EKYC 2014 Blues

3rd and final grading game for the boys this weekend. Been some impressive performances so far so coming into this one full of confidence. Good luck Blues!

Saturday is the Blues 1st of 3 sprint games in the league. Hope you can join us again to cheer the boys!

Good performance in our last preseason games before the start of the season!

We've had 3 finals now since the boys started 11s. Played their way into this one with 10 points out of 15 and just narrowly lost the final 1-0. Chances for both sides in a really good, well contested game. Well done to East End United and massive thank you to Rolly for putting on such a well run festival!

Now we set our sights to the league starting next week. Plenty of things coming out of today's games for us coaches to work on in training so the boys will be better for it!

Blues back in action tomorrow at the Rolly festival. Heres all the matches and kick off times. Please note, if you are attending, parking at Ballerup Recreation Area is reserved only for staff and officials

The Blues got their pre-season campaign off to a winning start with a victory over Rolly!

After racing into a 4-1 half-time lead, the boys became a little disjointed in the second half, but still ran out deserved winners. Goals from Lucas H, Archie H, Alfie, Luca and Joseph gave us the perfect platform to kick off the new season.

But today was about much more than the result.

Although the boys have been training at the EnviroClean Stadium, this was their very first opportunity to play a match on their home pitch. Arriving early, getting set up in the changing rooms and then running out in front of a home crowd made it a special occasion for everyone involved.

We hope this is the first of many great memories the boys will create on their home pitch.

Its our first friendly of the preseason on Sunday. Boys have been working extremely hard in training so excited to see what they can produce. Its also the Blues 1st game on our home pitch so if you are about we would luv you to come down, support the boys and really give them that first taste of a proper home atmosphere. Mon the YC!!

And thats a wrap folks! Final session of the 25/26 season. 2 weeks off and then starting pre season for the boys first 11s season! Its also our last official session as the Blues & EKYC 2014 Yellows together as one entity. Best of luck to the Yellows on their journey into competitive football. Hopefully both teams will be bringing silverware back to Kirktonholme this time next year!

So after an excellent year for the Blues, no league fixture this weekend and likely a late night for the boys cheering on Scotland on Friday night, we have decided to wrap it up early for this season. Training next week then 2 weeks off completely to give everyone a well earned rest.

The boys have done brilliant at 9s and the early signs are they have the makings of a really strong 11 a side team.

Big thanks to the parents for their continued support. Im sure they are just excited as the players and coaches for starting 11s proper in August.

With us switching lets, this will allow training to continue uninterrupted all summer once we come back from our 2 week holiday for the 1st time ever. The aim is to get the boys well prepared for a long season and challenging for silverware.
