England Netball is urging the netball community to act to help protect the courts and playing fields our sport depends on.

The Government is proposing changes to planning rules that could remove Sport England from decisions about new developments, weakening protections for community sports facilities and putting grassroots netball at risk.

Petition: Do not remove Sport England as a statutory consultee for planning applications For the Government to ensure strong safeguards for playing fields, pitches and community sports facilities by maintaining Sport England’s status as a statutory consultee for planning applications involving playing fields.

The government want to remove Sport England from making any further decisions on sport. This will greatly affect sport played by girls and women. Please watch and share

We must protect spaces for women and girls to play - and we need your help🙏 The Government plans to remove Sport England from the list of organisations that must be consulted on planning applications in England. This is a huge step backwards. Sport England is the only body with the influence, expertise and interest to protect playing fields, pitches and open spaces from being built on or lost forever. Without them at the table, no one in the planning system is safeguarding space for women and girls to play sport. The INTO Officiating Award is the mandatory starting point for all new umpires into the Officiating Pathway. Conducted virtually over two sessions, the course will help you to understand the fundamental rules of the game, as well as cover the basics of positioning and movement and building your whistle confidence.
