🏏 Under 21s Match Report 🏏

It wasn’t to be for our Under 21s on Sunday, as Purley CC claimed a 27-run victory in the Surrey Trust League Tier 2 East.

After Purley posted 253-8, our bowlers shared the wickets, with Taran Sharma (2-14), Ben Vale (2-40) and Ben Green (2-43) all picking up two apiece.

Chasing 254 was always going to be a challenge, but the lads never gave up. A superb 61 from Taran Sharma and an excellent 58 from Charlie Anderson kept the chase alive, while Will James added 27 in a determined batting display.

Although the result didn’t go our way, there were plenty of positives to build on, with two outstanding half-centuries and another committed team performance.

We’ll dust ourselves down and go again next game πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ

🌟 Player Spotlight 🌟

A fantastic innings from Joe Keetley, who top-scored for the 1st XI with 68 from just 51 balls against Crawley CC. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Joe’s innings included 3 fours and 3 sixes, striking at 133.33 to help the 1st XI post 257.

This season has seen Joe step into the role of 1st XI wicketkeeper – a big challenge for any young player. While it’s a role he’s still growing into, he’s embraced it brilliantly and continues to improve week after week.

Well played, Joe – here’s to many more! πŸ‘πŸ

🏏 Saturday Round-Up🏏

A mixed afternoon for Felbridge & Sunnyside CC,

πŸ‘ The 3rd XI were the standout performers, claiming a convincing 6-wicket victory over Plumpton & East Chiltington. A superb bowling display saw Robin Wandrag (3-17) and Kieran Street (3-33) help dismiss the visitors for 167, before the chase was completed comfortably thanks to Jonny Gaskell’s unbeaten 46, supported by John Connelly (38) and Simon Cannell (27).

The 1st XI posted a competitive 257-9, with Joe Keetley (68), Jack Williams (46) and Ellis Bradley (41) all making valuable contributions. Unfortunately, Crawley chased the target with wickets to spare despite Jack Williams’ 3-66.

The 2nd XI battled hard after being put into bat, with Chris Hinton (42), Noah Tucker (30) and Will James (26) helping the side reach 186. Neil Divall (3-35) picked up three wickets, but Preston Nomads reached their target in the 28th over.

The 4th XI came up against a strong Roffey side. Despite the result, there were positives to take, with the young team continuing to battle throughout the afternoon. Robert Marston (3-50) and Declan Rogers (2-26) were the pick of the bowlers, while Woody Rogers (21) and Charlie Parnell (15) led the scoring as the side fought to the end.

Congratulations to the 3rd XI on an excellent team performance, and good luck to all four sides next weekend. πŸ’™πŸ’›
