First up on Wednesday was Rockets vs Ball Huggers. 🏐🤗
After narrowly taking the win against their sister team last week, we knew it would be a great game, and boy did it deliver! The score was neck and neck at the end of the first half - we knew it would be another close one. 😅

We came away from the match with a 6-goal deficit, but with our heads held high. A 6-goal difference against the team sitting at the top of the leaderboard is a really strong effort. Watch out Ball Huggers, we’re coming for you! 🫵😜🚀

It’s me, Ferne, the girl behind our social media accounts 🤓🌿

✶ What encouraged you to start playing netball?
I’ve played netball on & off since school, with the last time being in 2022. I was really keen to start playing again & meet new people - it’s honestly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. ✨

✶ How has netball impacted you?
I’ve met so many incredible people, not just within our club but across the whole league too. I genuinely look forward to game days every week & having a laugh on court with everyone! Restarting netball has also opened up so many other doors for me, including my career. 💻🏐

✶ Why did you choose Forest Row Netball Club?
Netball opportunities in this area of Sussex are so limited, so as soon as I saw Sophie’s recruitment post, I knew I had to reach out & I’m so glad I did! Since day 1, everyone has been so friendly, welcoming & supportive - I love our little FRNC family. 💚🫂💙

What a performance from Rockets last night! 🚀

As we head towards the end of the season, it’s brilliant to see some of our newer combinations really starting to thrive. Up against Nets Best Thing, a strong & versatile team we always enjoy playing. 🤝

Scores were level after Q1, we then found ourselves 4 goals down before working our way back to even. In the final quarter, the team showed incredible composure & determination to edge ahead & take the win by just ONE GOAL! 💚

SO proud of everyone. 🤩 It was a beautiful team performance & a real reflection of how far this squad has come. 🙌

⭐️ 𝗣𝗢𝗠: Collette - some perfectly timed intercepts, she was instrumental in driving the ball up the court!

A big shoutout to Kat too, who played just her second game with us! With some fantastic movement around the D, creating space & giving us another attacking option, her impact across the court was huge, right from the get-go. A game-changing performance! 💫💥

Meanwhile, Nadoes had a week off, but they’ll be ready to go next week as they take on the mighty Usual Suspects. 💙

From the moment I saw their recruitment post to meeting them in person everyone was super friendly and super encouraging!

A huge win for the Rockets this week, with just 4 goals separating the teams at the final whistle! Goal Diggers gave us a brilliant fight and pushed us all the way, but we managed to sneak away with the win 🙌

Our attackers moved the ball effortlessly down the court, while our defenders worked tirelessly to disrupt the incredibly accurate Goal Diggers shooters.

A fantastic team performance from start to finish. Another great game and another win for the Rockets! 🚀💚

The score doesn’t reflect the great performance Nadoes put out last night! We were able to put into practice the tips and training from our coaching session last week with Leanne, which clearly paid off and earned some great feedback from our umpire. 👏

A special mention to Collette, making her debut for Forest Row at WD and making an immediate impact across the court 💙

Rockets: An intense game last night - we put in a fantastic effort against Suspects! 💪 The score stayed close in the first half, and we gave a strong push right until the final whistle 👏🚀

We’d be lost without her, and there wouldn’t be a Forest Row Netball Club if it weren’t for her 🥹🌳 It’s Sophie! 🌟👑

✶ What encouraged you to start playing netball?
I need team accountability! Left to my own devices I’d probably stay on the sofa, but knowing my teammates are counting on me gets me up and moving 💪🏐

✶ How has netball impacted you?
Netball has given me confidence, strength, friendship and a second family. Through life’s ups and downs, my netball family has always been there for me. There’s something special about stepping onto court knowing your teammates have your back, cheering you on and believing in you, no matter what 💚💙

✶ Why did you choose Forest Row Netball Club?
I didn’t choose Forest Row Netball Club, I created it! After moving to the area in 2025 and struggling to find a local team, I put a post on Facebook asking if anyone fancied starting one. One year later we have 15 players across two teams, an amazing club culture, a local sponsor, new kits on the way 👀🤫Ooops, did I just leak that?! ... and we’re only just getting started!

A close contest from start to finish, with some beautiful shooting at one end, a great defensive effort at the other, and fantastic work through the middle to link it all together 💥💙🌪️

✶ What encouraged you to start playing netball?
I had always played when I was in primary school, so I just carried on!!!!

✶ How has netball impacted you?
It has allowed me to make loads of new friends as well as having a laugh, and obviously playing netball in between all of that!!

Everyone was so lovely when I first came down to the courts, so friendly and welcoming!
