Next session is 9am to 1 pm Saturday 25th July. This will be weeding, hedge trimming and general tidying. We will also look to wash the main front windows and the Perspex sheltered area at the entrance doors.

As part of the We Move Together campaign, we're teaming up with our friends at Durham Indoor Bowling Club to offer a relaxed and welcoming introduction to indoor bowls.
Whether you've never tried indoor bowls before or are simply looking for a new way to get active, this friendly taster session is the perfect introduction.

Gardening Team Dates.

After the success of last years efforts we have an easier job this year.

Friday 17th and 25th July from 9am to 1pm.

If needed we will add dates in August.

If anyone has not put their name on the list, you can just turn up.

We have had an excellent response to members volunteering. Internal cleaning / hoovering, rink carpet hoovering, entertainment sub-committee and gardening team.

There are several posters coming out soon for other volunteers in key areas. Please keep up enthusiasm and support to develop our club.

I’ve put this up in the foyer at the club.

Good luck to all who have a team in the quarter finals.

SUNDAYS

Opportunity to do some additional bowling on Sundays. This is when the blood donor sessions are on, and the club is open.

We have just had the first Novice Cup games today.

We had 2 rinks with 6 rinks available.

The club is open on Blood Donor days and we have utilised 2 rinks from 10am to 12 noon, with 6 rinks available. From 10am to 4pm the bowling rinks are available to book for roll ups, rearranged league matches and any summer KO matches.

Please contact the club to book a rink, or turn up on the day, but rinks may not be available.

Durham Indoor Bowling Club Coffee Morning.

Just completed a fantastic community day, with 109 tickets sold.

Total takings was £703 this will be split £352 to the Carpet Fund and £351 to the club.

With the 2 quizzes this is takings of £2,043. A fantastic effort by all involved in the organisation, including Staff.

A massive thank you to everyone who attended and donated cakes, savouries and tombola prizes.

Next event is the quiz and PYCR on Wed 29th July, which starts at 7pm.

We have our 30 year anniversary celebrations on Sat 22nd Aug. Please keep an eye out for posters and sign up sheets coming out soon.

I issued 12 free bowls taster session tickets. Hopefully they will contact the club to arrange.

Women’s Health Talk

Wednesday 2nd September 10am to 12noon.

Dr Sanghera of Woodlands Hospital will be giving a talk on Women’s Wellbeing, at Durham Indoor Bowling in our Function Room.

This is open to members, members family and friends, also to the local community.

Posters will be out soon in the club and posted on Facebook and up on notice boards around the local community.
