A brilliant day of football for the Foundation of Light Whites, with the lads topping their group to progress into the Gold Cup semi-finals. They showed great quality, determination and teamwork throughout the tournament, earning their place among the strongest teams on the day.
Unfortunately, the journey ended in the cruellest way possible, with defeat in a penalty shootout in the semi-final. Penalties are always tough to take, especially after such a hard-fought performance, but every player can be incredibly proud of how they represented the team.
Tournament football is never easy. With such short games, it’s difficult to build momentum or recover from setbacks, making every moment count. Despite that, the lads competed brilliantly from start to finish, playing some excellent football and showing the attitude and togetherness we’ve come to expect.
A fantastic effort all round and plenty of positives to take into the new season. Well done, lads! 👏⚽

Overall Player of the Season – Vinnie Jones
We're absolutely delighted to have Vinnie as part of our team. He embodies everything we want from a young footballer.
Week after week he's there, giving 100%. He scores goals, creates chances for others with assists, works tirelessly for the team and sets the standard with his effort and attitude. Whatever the game demands, Vinnie always plays a huge part in everything we do.
He can be a little miserable when he's substituted, but that only shows his passion and desire to help the team. He wants to be on the pitch every minute because he cares so much about his teammates and always wants to contribute.
A fantastic player, a great teammate, and a thoroughly deserving winner of our Overall Player of the Season award. Well done, Vinnie!

Player of the Spring Cup – Charlie Deluce
Charlie is a player who still doesn't realise just how good he is – and that's a dangerous combination for the opposition.
Whether he's playing in defence or midfield, he's our commander. He always seems to make the right decision, constantly looking to bring his teammates into the game with positive passes. He's fantastic in the tackle, reads the game brilliantly, and is always driving the team forward.
To top off an outstanding Spring Cup campaign, Charlie was deservedly named Player of the Tournament at the Flamingo Land Tournament, a fantastic achievement that shows just how much his game has developed and the level he has reached.
A brilliant player, an even better teammate, and thoroughly deserving of this award.

Coaches' (Mick) Player of the Season – Miles Atkinson
Since moving Miles into defence, he has never looked back. Week after week, his confidence has grown, and he's become a valuable player in the squad.
He's been like a rock at the back—calm, composed, and always looking to play a positive pass rather than just clearing his lines. His reading of the game and willingness to learn have improved massively throughout the season.
What also makes Miles stand out is his attitude. He's a great lad who never takes the game too seriously. Whether we win, lose or draw, he keeps smiling, enjoys his football, and is always ready to go again the following week. That positive mindset is something every coach loves to see.
For his outstanding development, consistency, and fantastic attitude throughout the season, the Coaches' Player of the Season award goes to Miles Atkinson. Congratulations, Miles!

Coaches' (Colin) Player of the Season – Max Dodds
A thoroughly deserved award for Max Dodds.
Max is one of the most underrated players in the team and doesn't always get the recognition he deserves. He has been one of the biggest reasons behind our incredible defensive record this season.
His transformation over the last year has been remarkable. His attitude, concentration, and willingness to listen, learn, and put coaching points into practice have improved beyond measure. Every week he has shown a real desire to develop, and the results speak for themselves.
His shot-stopping has been up there with the very best goalkeepers around, making countless crucial saves when the team has needed him most. Just as importantly, his confidence, decision-making and communication have continued to grow, giving everyone in front of him confidence.
Max has set the standard for what can be achieved through hard work, dedication and a positive attitude. This award isn't just about the saves—it's recognition of the outstanding progress he's made throughout the season.
Congratulations, Max. A very worthy Coaches' Player of the Season.

Players' Player of the Season – Jaxson Smith
Jaxson arrived as a quiet and shy lad, but over the course of the season he's really come out of his shell, growing in confidence and becoming close friends with so many of the boys.
He has shown real quality whenever the ball is at his feet, always looking comfortable in possession and making things happen. More recently, moving into a striker's role has highlighted the versatility he brings to the team, adapting brilliantly and showing he can make an impact wherever he's asked to play.
Being voted Players' Player of the Season by his teammates says everything about the respect they have for him. A fantastic achievement—well done, Jaxson.

Parents' Player of the Season – Luke Adams
Luke gives 100% in everything he does and never lets his effort levels drop. Week after week he's one of the first names in the conversation for Man of the Match because of the consistency and commitment he shows every time he pulls on the shirt.
After being named Coaches' Player of the Season last year, Luke has continued to develop his game and improve every season. Whether it's defending, winning tackles, or doing the hard work for the team, he always puts the team first and leads by example with his attitude.
A fantastic season and a thoroughly deserved Parents' Player of the Season award. Well done, Luke!

Colin & Mick
"Firstly, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our players, parents, families and everyone who has supported Foundation of Light Whites throughout the season.
When we look back at where we started compared to where we are now, the improvement has been incredible. Every single player has worked hard, listened, learned and developed throughout the year. As coaches, we couldn't be prouder of what this group has achieved.
Results are important, but development has always been our main focus. That said, it's hard not to mention just how close we came to promotion. We narrowly missed out in both the main league season and again in the Spring Cup. While that was disappointing at the time, it shows just how far this team has come and how competitive we've become.
One of the biggest improvements has been at the back. Earlier in the season we spoke about becoming harder to beat, and the lads have certainly taken that on board. During the Spring Cup we conceded just 18 goals in 11 games, which is a fantastic achievement and gives us an excellent platform to build on next season. Defending isn't just about the goalkeeper and defenders either—it's about every player working together as a team, and that's exactly what they've done.
What has impressed us most isn't just the football. It's the attitude. The effort in training, the willingness to learn, encouraging teammates, bouncing back from setbacks and never giving up. Those qualities will take these lads a long way, both on and off the pitch.
To all of the parents, thank you for your continued support. Whether it's bringing the lads to training, standing in the cold and rain on matchdays, or encouraging them every step of the way, we really appreciate everything you do. We couldn't do it without you.
We're not quite finished yet. We've still got one more tournament next week, and we'd love to finish the season on a high.
After that, everyone can enjoy a well-earned summer break before we begin the next exciting chapter together as an Under-11s team.
We've built something really special this season. The foundations are in place, the confidence is growing, and we're excited to see what this group can achieve next year.
Well done, lads. We're incredibly proud of every single one of you. Enjoy today, enjoy the tournament next week, have a fantastic summer, and we'll see you all ready to go again for the Under-11 season!"
