Kirn & Hunters Quay Bowling Club

Yesterday we hosted our annual mixed triples.

We had 24 team take part this year which is fantastic to see this well supported by clubs.

Our 4 section winners were -

Fraser Po***ck, Fraser Po***ck and Ameila Po***ck
Stevie Scott, Robert Newlands and Isobel Lauder
Rachel Boyd, Chris Boyd and Terry Walker
Colin Smith, Anne Margaret Houston and Rena Smith.

In some close contested semis Rachels team overcame Stevies team with a fantastic last bowl from Rachel.

Frasers team manager to secure a 2 on the last end to take the game against Colins team to and extra end.

Our eventual winners of the day and playing some fantastic bowls all day long were.

Colin Smith, Anne Margaret Houston and Rena.

12 teams took to the green to battle it out in a mixture of Rinks and Pairs.

Our 4 semi finalists split into pairs with -

Callum, Ian, Jimmy and Euan beat Terry, Chaz, Johnny and Jamie.

Stevie, Bobbie, John and Shaun beat Fraser, Fraser, Shane and Brian.

The final was a final that could have went either way with both teams putting on a show. A fantastic last end from Stevie seen the game go to an extra end.

Our winners for this year defending the trophy were Callum, Jimmy, Ian and Euan.

Lastly our ladies who done the bar and worked hard in the kitchen.

Wasn't to be today for the club in the National Top 10 with a 6-2 defeat to Newton Stewart BC.
