Women of our generation were taught that losing weight meant eating as little as possible and trying to burn off every calorie with cardio.
We judged our progress by the scales, felt guilty for eating carbs and believed one “bad” meal meant the whole week was ruined.
Thankfully, we know better now.
We know that building and maintaining muscle becomes even more important as we get older.
We know our bodies need protein, proper food, movement and recovery.
We know that progress isn’t only measured by the scales. It can be lifting heavier, having more energy, feeling better in your clothes or simply doing things you couldn’t do before.
And most importantly, we know that you don’t need to be perfect.
You need an approach that supports your health, fits into your life and is realistic enough to continue.
We weren’t failing at weight loss.
We were following advice that was never designed to help us become strong. 💛
