Caledonia Midlands & North 7s Challenge

It was a very wet and miserable day for the Caledonia Midlands & North 7s Challenge, but the weather certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the girls!

Dunfermline once again teamed up with Dundee, as they have done throughout the season, and what a fantastic performance they put in. The girls played some brilliant rugby throughout the competition and were deservedly crowned CHAMPIONS! 🏆

⭐ Lilly ⭐
Lilly was playing her first game since returning and understandably started a little nervously. However, she quickly grew in confidence and showed exactly what she can do. Lilly made numerous strong line breaks in attack and wasn’t afraid to put herself about in defence, making plenty of important tackles. A fantastic return!

⭐ Kitty ⭐
Kitty was as fierce as ever! She made loads of brilliant tackles and was incredibly strong in the rucks, repeatedly clearing out to help the team regain possession. She also made plenty of powerful forward runs and came within inches of scoring herself. Even when brought down just short of the line, Kitty showed great awareness by getting the ball out to her teammates, allowing the team to finish the attack and score. Brilliant team play!

⭐ Willow ⭐
Willow was extremely busy throughout the game, constantly making herself available as a support runner and always willing to take the ball forward and make valuable metres for the team. She also got stuck into her tackles and was never far from the action at the breakdown, whether playing at 9 or 10. A fantastic all-round performance.

👏 Overall, apart from the absolutely dismal weather, the girls were brilliant once again. They showed determination, teamwork, commitment and plenty of exciting rugby throughout the competition.

They may have travelled home soaking wet… but they came home VICTORIOUS! 🏆💙

A huge well done to all the girls and to the Dundee players and coaches for another fantastic day of rugby.

💙🤍U16 Girls Match Report 🤍💙

The Dunfermline U16 Girls were on the road this weekend, travelling to Greenock in wet and cold conditions. Despite the challenging weather, the girls put in a fantastic performance and showed just how much they are developing week on week.
There was plenty to be proud of, with some dominant tackles, excellent support play and offloads, and some really strong running throughout the game. The girls also showed great attacking intent, making several line breaks and putting pressure on the Greenock defence.
What stood out most was the teamwork and willingness to work for each other. The support around the ball carrier was excellent, creating opportunities to keep the attack moving and making the most of the breaks.
It’s clear that the hard work at training is paying off, with the team continuing to grow in confidence, skill and understanding every week.
A brilliant effort from all the girls in difficult conditions plenty of positives to take forward!

Big thank you to Greenock for hosting and the hospitality.

🏉Match report for U12's🏉
"Our U12 girls joined forces with Dundee again this week at Glenrothes for a sunny yet blustery day of rugby. After a slightly sluggish start against a composite Stirling/Glenrothes/Howe side, the team quickly hit their stride, as they went on to take on Falkirk and Strathendrick.
It is fantastic to see the girls growing in confidence week after week, showcased by clear improvements in their tackling, rucking, and support play.
Ava was a force of nature going forward, carrying with power and getting rewarded with a fantastic try. Willow was ever-present at the back of the ruck, constantly offering an outlet in support and driving hard over the gain line.
Another outstanding, high-energy performance all round!

🏉 FIFE U14 GIRLS MATCH REPORT 🏉

Another great day of rugby for the Fife U14 Girls, with Madras, Howe, Glenrothes and Dunfermline coming together to represent Fife.

The girls faced strong opposition from Strathendrick and Falkirk, and despite some very windy conditions, there was plenty of good rugby on show from all the teams.

The Fife girls are continuing to gel together week by week, and it was brilliant to see some excellent rugby, with a special mention for the fantastic supporting runs throughout the games. There were also some brilliant examples of players chasing back and making tackles when it looked like a lost cause — showing great determination and teamwork. 💙

A special mention goes to Ruby, the only Dunfermline player representing Fife today. Ruby continued to grow in confidence as the games went on and put in some strong forward runs, carrying the ball well and showing plenty of determination. 💪🏉

Overall, another positive day for the Fife U14 girls, with plenty of progress, teamwork and good rugby to take forward.

🌟 Keep working, keep supporting each other and keep enjoying your rugby!

Another week, another game, and another step forward for our U16 girls! 🏉💪
The game got off to a bit of a slow start, with the girls taking some time to settle into their rhythm. But once they started talking, supporting each other and working together as a team, we had some great play.
There were some fantastic line breaks, great tackles and some brilliant attack.

The girls stuck it right to the final whistle, encouraging each other and showing some fantastic team spirit. There’s still plenty to work on, but the improvement these girls are making each week is fantastic to watch!

Most importantly, they’re enjoying their rugby, having fun and growing together as a team and that’s what it’s all about!
