We are so excited that Cerys Whelan has joined our teaching team 🩷

Here is a little note from Cerys:

I can’t wait to begin teaching for The Dance Studio and share my knowledge with the students to help them achieve their goals.

I’ve been dancing since the age of 3 in various styles of dance and competed in both lyrical and hip hop. By competing this has allowed me to travel and perform in Disneyland Paris, SOAR British in Birmingham and in Blackpool at UDO Worlds. My dancing has allowed me to perform in several pantomimes at the Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline and I have also performed in Peter Pan at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow with Boy George. Along with many dance shows in the theatre with my previous dance school. I have also had the opportunity to dance in the opening of the show for the dance crew Royal Family in Dundee. I have also recently performed in ‘The Big Show’ at the Theatre Royal with Hamilton Theatre Arts.

I am always keen to learn about all things dance. This has led me to participate in the ID-Company with Ryan Jenkins. Along with participating at the Perform festival in Glasgow. I have recently completed my HNC at Hamilton Theatre Arts.

I found my passion for teaching around the age of 10 where I started assisting in classes. This dream has led me to choreograph competition team pieces, show pieces and various classes and performances.

I have completed a dance teacher training course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and completed my Acrotrix teacher assistant training. I completed my safeguarding course in July 2025 and done first aid courses. As part of my course work in high school I done work placement at Southwood Primary School where I taught dance to all primary classes.
