Another strong night to finish off another fantastic week at the Joe Cardle Academy!

A great mix of a full 1:1 programme alongside two advanced groups, with plenty of quality work, detail and intensity across all our sessions.

It was great to welcome Joseph Currie from Dunfermline Athletic U15s for his first session with Leo last night, as well as two St Johnstone players — first-team player Kristen Taplin and U15 striker Jayden Webster — both getting their fine-tuning and detailed individual work in ahead of their weekend fixtures.

Our two advanced groups have been an absolute credit over the last few weeks. The boys and girls have been working extremely hard on all the technical aspects within our reaction passing, intensity within our possession-based drills, and the improvement has been fantastic to see.

A huge well done to everyone who has trained with us this week — another week of hard work, development and commitment!

We’d like to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS to our Day 1 player, Angus Green, on securing a contract with Dunfermline Athletic U17s!

Angus has been with us from the very beginning of the Joe Cardle Academy, and it’s been an absolute pleasure watching his journey over the years.

We’ve seen a young boy develop into a fantastic young man, working closely with him as he progressed from Bayside, to Hutchie Vale, to Kelty Hearts, and now onto pro youth level with Dunfermline Athletic — a fantastic and well-deserved achievement.

Angus is the perfect example of what we strive to produce at the Joe Cardle Academy. He’s always been willing to work hard, play with a smile on his face and, most importantly, push himself to reach the highest level possible.

It’s been a joy to watch Angus flourish both on and off the pitch, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything he has achieved so far.

Keep up the fantastic work Angus!

Days like today make it all worthwhile.

Rangers’ latest recruit James Penrice made a huge impact on his first start today, scoring and assisting in a fantastic 5-1 victory over St Mirren.

James, an ex-teammate of Head Coach Joe Cardle, has been a regular at our off-season sessions over the years. Not only a great friend of Joe’s, but a player and person we have loved watching develop and grow into the footballer he is today.

From working with him in the off-season to seeing him make his mark at Rangers today, moments like this make us incredibly proud of what we do at the academy.

Rewind 10 years ago to the day!

Our Head Coach, Joe Cardle, started the season on fire for Dunfermline Athletic, scoring a hat-trick in the opening game of the season at home to Dumbarton and helping Dunfermline go straight to the top of the table.

Nothing quite replicates the feeling of playing in front of packed stadiums and scoring goals.

But coaching, developing and helping the younger generation experience their own football journey comes pretty close.

Receiving messages like this is exactly why we started the Joe Cardle Academy all those years ago.

Jakob has been an ever-present in our 1:1 programme for over a year now. A very technical player who we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming for both 1:1 sessions and group sessions throughout his time with us.

Now, after leaving school, Jakob has made the fantastic decision to further his football career with a football scholarship over in the States.

It was a real heartwarming message to receive from Jakob, who caught up with Joe at the start of the week before setting off on his new adventure.

A fantastic opportunity for a fantastic young man, and one that we’re incredibly proud to have played a small part in.

It’s been an incredible summer here at the Joe Cardle Academy, but we’re excited to finish with our final 2-day camp.

Expect high-intensity, detailed sessions delivered by the Joe Cardle Academy coaching team, with a focus on technical development, intensity, decision making and competition.

Let’s finish the summer strong ⚽️🙌🏼

We are incredibly proud to see our very own Ava Crawford secure her first professional contract with Hearts Women.

Ava was one of the very first players we worked with when we started the Joe Cardle Academy over six years ago.

Joe saw huge potential in Ava from the moment he first worked with her at just 11 years old. He quickly got in touch with his former teammate, Andy Kirk, who was Hearts Women’s first-team manager at the time.

Kirky arranged for a Hearts scout to come and watch one of Ava’s 1:1 sessions with Joe, and it didn’t take long for them to see what we had already seen. Ava was invited in to train with the Hearts Women’s Under-12s.

After just two sessions with the girls, Ava was asked to commit to the club.

Year after year, Ava has continued to develop, improve and flourish within the Hearts academy, earning recognition from the Scotland national team along the way.

Now, she has been rewarded with her first professional contract and is playing in the Champions League this week. What an incredible achievement. 👏🏼

Ava’s journey is a perfect example of what can happen when you combine dedication, hard work, belief and a mentality to strive for greatness.

She is now a fantastic role model for all the younger girls who attend the Joe Cardle Academy and proof that dreams really can become reality.

We are so proud of you, Ava, and genuinely grateful to have played a small part in your journey so far.

We are excited for our upcoming Advanced & Elite Summer Camps.

Designed for players currently playing academy football or competing at an advanced level, these sessions provide the opportunity to train and compete alongside players of a similar standard in a challenging, high-intensity environment.

Led by Joe Cardle and the JCA coaching team, the camps will focus on developing technical ability, decision-making, game understanding, and competitive performance.
