A fantastic session at Woodside Bait Pond for this young angler, who landed two beautiful trout!

Both fish were caught using worms as bait, with the cooler temperatures of the late afternoon and early evening proving to be the perfect time to get out on the water.

🎣 Fishing Update from Kingennie Fishings 🎣

The recent return of the rain, combined with a significant drop in overnight temperatures, has kept our ponds at an ideal temperature for the trout, and they're fishing exceptionally well.

The rainfall has also provided the lochans with a much-needed flush, with the burn bringing in fresh, oxygen-rich water that's really helped to invigorate the fish.

If you're heading out, these flies are proving to be the top performers:

✅ Shipman's Buzzers
✅ Yellow Owl
✅ Floating Fry fished on a floating line
✅ Mini Lures on an intermediate line
✅ Damsel
✅ Yellow Dancers
✅ Hot Head Damsel

🎣🏆 Family Fishing Competition Winners!

A huge congratulations to Mark Norris and his son, who were crowned the winners of our Family Fishing Competition at Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort! 👏

Together they landed and returned an incredible 26 fish, making for a fantastic day of angling. 🎣💚

Well done to everyone who took part and helped make the competition such a great success. We loved seeing so many families enjoying quality time together.

this does mean that the Woodside Bait pond will be closed during these hours. You are welcome to come down before the event or after to try your luck catching your dinner.

Just a post to remind the bait anglers that the Woodside Bait pond will be closed until 5pm tomorrow, Saturday 27th June for our family fun day. We will have water sports and fishing taster sessions happening, there will be stalls, BBQ, ice cream cart and many more for the family to enjoy. The fly ponds will be unaffected and will remain open.

As a way of apology, we have made sure a fresh stocking has hit the pond so when we are back in full swing on Sunday, the fish will have settled and ready for you. There’s also been a delivery of live bait and more selections of powerbaits to be used.

Our w**d cutter will be present on the Woodside pond mid week from Wednesday on the quieter days to clear the ponds of the w**d ensuring your lures, hooks and line are pulling in fish and not a clump of w**d. We do this mid week so we are disturbing as few anglers as possible and making sure we have time to clear the area for the busier weekends.

Thank you for your understanding while we carry out these essential works.

We have been monitoring the weather front that has been making its way up the eastern coast and we are pleased to say it has pushed its way out to sea off the fife coast and we will be staying clear of it.

We will reopen the ponds at 12pm and look forward to seeing you all down.
