Jamie Anderson wins the Dundee Scratch Cup πŸ†

Jamie Anderson prevailed in a tight finale to the 2025-26 DASA Dundee Scratch Cup, with a hard fought 5-3 win over Kris Inglis at the Tivoli last night.

After taking the first two frames, Jamie never relinquished his lead, albeit Kris began to find his game, and scrapped hard to stay in touch with some timely contributions and hard match play, reducing the lead to 2-1, 3-2 and then 4-3. But just as Kris was threatening a possible decider, it was Jamie who prevailed, his exceptional long potting enabling him to take the final frame and with it his second DASA trophy of the season, adding this to his Scratch League title.

Congratulations to Jamie πŸ‘ and commiserations to Kris.

Frame scores (JA first): 50-46, 62-28, 37-62 (KI 40), 52-24, 18-58, 58-33, 48-57 (KI 33), 51-7

Referees: Tony McAteer and Neil Dargie

Kenny Simpson emerged as the last man standing from the 39 entrants of the 2025-26 Memorial Cup, as he claimed the trophy with a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Edward Dunning.

Edward, in his first DASA season, enjoyed a great run to the final, claiming some big scalps along the way, but was no match for an in form Kenny, who raced into a 4-nil lead. Edward reduced the arrears by claiming frame 5, but Kenny, facing a 22 point handicap deficit, held his nerve and showed his experience to win the last frame and with it his maiden DASA winners trophy, going one better than his narrow League 1 Cup final defeat to Jammie Dodger in 2024-25.

Congratulations to Kenny, and commiserations to Edward but well done on a fantastic run.

Frame scores as follows: 67-34, 68-55, 71-36, 68-41, 50-60, 68-58

Referees: Joe McGrath & Tony Mcateer

We're grateful to our Memorial Cup sponsors, Colin M Smith and Tayside Snooker Services, for their generous support.

It's congratulations to Kris Inglis πŸ₯‡ for prevailing in a tense final match versus Jamie Anderson πŸ₯‰ to pip Darren Somerville πŸ₯ˆ to the 2025-26 DASA βšͺοΈπŸ”΄βš«οΈ League 1 title πŸ₯³

Kris needed a win versus Jamie to win the league, and prevailed 2-1 to claim his first DASA League winners trophy, coming ahead of Darren by a whisker on matches won.

Congratulations to Kris and unlucky to Darren on a superb second place. Jamie meanwhile came in a hard fought third courtesy of the frame won versus Kris.

Kris has also made it to the Scratch Cup final, where he will meet the winner of Jamie and Craig Sandford. After claiming the League One Cup already, will Kris be able to claim an unlikely treble? πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ‘€

In a hotly contested race at the top of the 2025-26 DASA Scratch League 2, Colin McKay put on an outstanding run of results, claiming 10 victories and 4 draws, going undefeated since early January, to propel him in the final weeks to the top of the league standings.

The run included a draw and a victory over the early pace setter, Gary Britten, who has also had an fantastic season but was just pipped at the last by Colin's unbeaten stretch.

Congratulations to Colin on claiming the title! πŸ†

The last player to defeat Colin, Mark Mcculloch, is trailing in third and could still yet catch Gary. Well done to all players on a compelling league season.

It's all come down to the last match in the top half of DASA League 1!

Darren Somerville leads the league from the front by two points from Kris Inglis. However Kris can pip Darren to the title, if he claims a win versus Jamie Anderson in their final match on Thursday. If the win goes to Jamie, then Darren will become the 2025-26 League 1 Champ πŸ†

Jamie is also playing for a higher league finish so it really is all to play for.

It's been a hotly contested race this year with only 4 points separating the top 6 players! An incredible race to the line with some great match play throughout the season.

And it all comes down to this πŸ˜„πŸΏ

Best of luck to Kris and Darren!

With huge thanks to our League 1 sponsors Glenford Forfar

With a 3-1 win versus Stuart Mitchell, Jamie Anderson claimed his 25th win of the Scratch League 1 season, moving to 80 points, and in doing so claimed an unassailable lead to earn the title, going one better than his runner up spot in 2024-25. Congratulations to Jamie on a terrific season.

Kris Inglis has tied up second spot, trailing by 8 points with a game still to play. Dave Pawley currently occupies third spot but has Joe McGrath on his heels with two matches in hand.

Meanwhile at the foot of the table, Stuart Mitchell trails Neil Dargie by 3 points, and with one game remaining is there a late twist to the battle to come there?
