Game-week 5 to bring us up to date, with only 2 games remaining the title battle is heating up as we see both the top 2 stride out convincing 6 nil winners this week!
We could be lined up for a winner takes all game in the final week in a couple weeks time when The Starrs and Andys Tartan Army meet.

Green Army 0-6 The Starrs
Seb done his brother Donovan no favours in the title race as he seen his side slump to a 6 nil defeat and all but end his own teams hopes of topping the league. Only a week after winning 6 nil themselves just shows the ups and downs of this league format.
The Starrs showed their strength here with brilliant scoring and finishing, not dropping a single leg in the singles matches. James Ross also hitting an 18 darter which could’ve been less all but for missed doubles!

Andys Tartan Army 6-0 The Dubai Camels
Almost as clinical were the Tartan Army with this side only dropping 1 leg in the singles as Finlay unluckily lost 2-1 to Joe. Donovan led the charge though in true captain fashion, hitting 2 180s in his singles game.
It was good to see Donovan bounce back after his 3-2 quarter final defeat on Monday in the blackwatch 😛

Pains in the Arch 2-4 RBS FC
Thankfully no crying and moaning from Jack this week as he seen his side run out 4-2 winners. That’s even despite Jack himself being 0 and 5, but it’s a team game Jack 😊
Dane again had to play singles twice with Archie missing this week and yet again Dane wins both beating Jack and Louie. With Cameron and Kaden again having to pick up the pieces and go into the doubles at 2-2.
Louie and Kaden won the final doubles to euphoric scenes and screams of joy.

The BFG Club 2-4 The Billie Genes
The BFGs have been finding it tough in recent weeks having been missing number 1 seed Adam but still fight on with the players they have and had group 3 Ashton called upon again, unfortunately lined up against Gene in a lamb to the slaughter match, which almost worked out anything but! Albeit Ashton started on 401 vs 501, the game did finish 2-1 to Gene, with Ashton missing 6 very close darts at double 8. He still left the board with a massive grin and hasn’t stopped telling everyone “I took a leg off Gene”. Bless him.
It was 3-1 in the singles here and the match was then sealed in the first double, with Kent and Jordon winning the last double against Gene and Kyle to make the score more respectable.

All to play for in the next couple of weeks and we also hope to have a cup knockout tournament with the 8 teams of 4…it’s just difficult having all the kids there in the same night for a cup game to work fairly! Watch this space though.

Game-week 3
Green Army 5-1 The BFG Club
A game which seen the return of Connor Agnew to the academy and pitched in to the Green Army. A signing which must have boosted the teams confidence in the absence of captain Seb as they sped into a 4-0 lead in the singles matches. Daniel creelman having to play 2 singles matches beating both Adam and Daniel Brookes 2-1. Doubles matches finished 1-1 to give the Green Army a convincing 5-1 win.

Pains in the Arch 4-2 Andys Tartan Army
Much depleted sides here due to holidays with Donovan missing for the Tartan Army with Archie and Junior stepping in. It just wasn’t enough in the end and despite the singles finishing even, the doubles went the way of pains in the arch.

RBS fc 3-3 the Dubai camels
A hard fought draw for both side with Ollie Syme for the Camels having to play two singles and doubles matches due to Finlay’s absence. A tough start for Ollie seen unlucky 2-1 defetas in both singles to Cameron and Kaden, before losing his first double only the redeem himself and help Robert fight back and gain a well earned point!

The Starrs 4-2 the Billie genes
The Billie Genes are still battling to pick up their first points and went agonisingly close against top of the league. The singles finishing 2 each only for The Starrs to step up in the doubles and win them both for a 4-2 win.

The Starrs 4-2 Pains in the Arch
Clinical finishing in the doubles seen The Starrs run out 4-2 winners here, despite Dane’s best efforts in his singles matches beating both Ringo and James. Just wasn’t enough even for a point in the end unfortunately

The Dubai Camels 4-2 The BFG Club
Another match where the singles finished 2-2 only for the camels to sn**ch victory in a tense final match that seen numerous darts at the double for both sides!

The Billie Genes 2-4 Andys Tartan Army
The Billie Genes struggles continue as yet again they find themselves 2-2 in the singles only to go on and lose both doubles matches. Shoutout to Ashton stepping up from group 3 and winning his match 2-1 against Joe, still can’t wipe the smile off his face and won’t stop asking if he can play in the league games every week. Joe soon got his revenge winning the deciding double with Donovan against Ashton and Gene.

RBS FC 0-6 Green Army
We have our first whitewash! To Jack’s rage and disappointment. “It’s not fair, their teams too good”. The less said about it the better but well done Seb and the Green Army, especially Rory who is now 4 wins from his 4 singles this season.

Another super night in the academy for our Tuesday kids. The Dart Vaders just missing out against The Oche Balboas, while the Bullseye Bandits kept their unbeaten start going. Elsewhere the Checkout Chancers and Treble Troublemakers had great efforts from Oscar, Faith and John.
We also had a visit from a very experienced and knowledgeable pair of helping hands in the form of Brett Morgan-williams. Brett gave some valuable advice around sighting and follow through amongst other key areas.

Great to have you along Brett and we wish you all the best in the upcoming competitions, in particular the WDF WORLD MASTERS event in Las Vegas.
