We're an award winning branch of BSAC based in Dundee. We have an active diver training program and a full calendar of events planned for throughout the year.

We welcome new divers, whether new to the sport or previously qualified under any major agency. We are a club; that means we not a school, we are not a shop and we are not for profit. We are run by the members - for the members. This philosophy is at the very heart of DSAC. We regularly run Try Dives in a pool for non-divers interested in trying scuba. These dives are run by fully qualified and experienced instructors. If you wish to have a go, drop us an email [email protected].

What a fantastic day at the A Frames! 🌊🤿
Alistair, Heather, Les, Aaron, and Suzy all enjoyed a fun-filled few dives. The visibility was incredible, and the marine life was absolutely buzzing!

We spotted squat lobsters, scallops, gobies, dragonets, a variety of crabs, fireworks anemones, sea pens… and that’s only the start. Every dive seemed to reveal something new!

Days like these are what diving is all about. Can’t wait to get back in! 💙🐠

Great but emotional night out with the club 💙

Our very own Torsten is heading back to Germany 🇩🇪

Fair to say he got the send-off he deserves – plenty of laughs, stories, and a few drinks along the way! 🍻

You’ll be missed, but we’re hoping this is just a “see you soon” rather than goodbye! 🌊🤿

Safe travels Torsten – from all of us!

🦀 Fun Fact Friday – Scottish Edible Crab!

Did you know the edible crab (Cancer pagurus) has one of the strongest grips in the sea? 💪 Its powerful claws can crush mussels, cockles, and even other crabs with ease!

These crabs are true coastal locals around Scotland, hiding among rocky seabeds and kelp forests. Their famous “pie-crust” shell edge makes them easy to spot 👀

Despite the name “edible crab,” they’re not just edible—they’re considered one of the best-tasting crabs in Europe!

Even cooler? Female crabs can carry millions of eggs at once—talk about super mums! 🐣

Next time you’re by the shore, keep an eye out… you might just spot one of these tough little characters! 🌊

🤿💙 What’s YOUR favourite part of diving?

Is it…

🌊 That first giant stride into the water
🐠 The moment you spot something incredible
🚤. Wreck hunting
🦞. Creature spotting
👯 The laughs and stories with your dive buddies after
🔥 Or even the post-dive warm-up (tea, anyone?)

For me, it’s: the quiet, no one can phone me, no emails, just time to escape into a different world!

Drop yours in the comments 👇 — and if you’ve got a photo that captures it, even better! 📸

Let’s celebrate what keeps us all coming back to the water 💙

🦞 Coastal Cool – Scottish Lobster!

Ever spotted a lobster along the Scottish coast? The European lobster (Homarus gammarus) is a true underwater heavyweight! 💪

With their striking dark blue shells (sometimes even bright blue!) and powerful claws, these lobsters are built for life on the rocky seabed. One claw crushes, the other cuts—like having built-in tools! 🔧

They’re mostly nocturnal too 🌙—hiding in rocky crevices by day and heading out at night to hunt for food.

Fun fact: lobsters can live for decades and keep growing throughout their lives. Some real old-timers are out there! 👀

Next time you’re by the sea, remember—there’s a whole hidden world beneath the waves! 🌊

🌊⚓️ Adventure beneath the waves! ⚓️🌊

Went scuba diving on an incredible treasure hunt—exploring an 80-meter steel steamship built way back in 1889! This historic wreck met its fate after running aground on 23rd December 1924… but amazingly, the entire crew survived.

Diving through history like this is something else—mystery, stories, and a glimpse into the past all in one unforgettable experience. 🐠💎

Some fantastic shots from Jennifer Hartnett on her dive at Kentallen Wall this week 📸🌊

Forecast said rain… but it never showed up 🙌
Midges, however, definitely did 😅

The top layer was a bit “snotty” with 2–3m viz, but stick with it and it paid off 👇
Below 15m things started to open up, and by 35m we were treated to a lovely 10m visibility 🤿✨

Classic west coast diving—worth pushing through the murk for what’s waiting below!

This little fish was just chilling on its rock like it owned the place 🐟🪨🤿

Didn’t seem bothered by us at all—just hanging out and enjoying the view! Nature at its most relaxed.

Not sure what kind of fish it is, so if anyone knows, drop a comment below 👇

Can you spot the cheeky fish? 👀🐟

Blending in like a total pro on the seabed—nature’s camouflage at its finest! Took me a second (or ten 😅) to see it properly.

💡 Fun fact: Flounders can actually change their coloration to match the seabed almost instantly—which is why it nearly disappears in your shot.
