What. A. Week. ๐ฅ๐๐ป๐๐พ๐ธ
Absolutely brilliant to be back with most classes, from the teeniest of toddlers to our retirement classes, our primary kids to our ladies classes, itโs been fantastic and has left me feeling blessed and very fortunate to be able to do what I do every day.
Iโve missed a few classes with photos this week but will try to get everyone next week โบ๏ธ and also a special mention to our new Wednesday retirees at Douglas - it was great to get another class up and running ๐ธโบ๏ธ

And we are back ๐ฅณ๐๐ป๐๐พ๐ธ
Starting before the other classes, our weekend classes kick started our 2026-27 session in style with toddlers, badminton and tennis โบ๏ธ
It was brilliant seeing our regulars back in action, as well as welcoming some new Buddies too - I can tell this year is gonna be a good one ๐ฅฐ

Managed to do a hard thing yesterday, but was in such a supportive place thanks to Scottish Women in Sport and the amazing people who were there. The other speakers were so inspiring too ๐ฅฐ

Following on from the Summers End Angus post I put on the other day, this one is a bit more specialโฆ.
On Saturday at the festival, I had the absolute privilege of watching this superstar on the stage (not as much as Iโd have liked as SuBo was on at the same time!).
Poppy came to Racquet Buddies at the very start with mum and dad, Faye and Len, and made the journey from Laurencekirk every week. During the time I had the pleasure of having Poppy in class, I watched her confidence grow week after week, and although it was in a sporting context at the time, to watch her perform with such confidence on the stage at the weekend was incredible. Sheโs an amazing musician and to watch her turning into such a confident and able young woman is a joy to witness - I was a wee bit emotional watching her for the short time I saw her, so goodness knows how her mum and dad and the rest of her family felt ๐ฅน๐ฅฐ
Well done Poppy - I canโt wait to see what the future holds for you ๐๐ป Watch this space!!

Wow, what a night at Summers End festival in Brechin ๐๐ป
So important to support these events while theyโre on our doorstep as itโs the only way theyโll stay, and it did not disappoint ๐๐ป
Tide Lines were absolutely outstanding as always, could happily go to see them every week, great to see Campbell from Angus Alchemy who recommended the Cola Cube and Irn Bru concoction - ooft ๐๐ป๐ We also may have acquired a rather large croc after winning him on the way out ๐๐คฃ
Brilliantly organised and looking forward to the rest of the weekend. Anyone else heading up??

And thatโs a wrap on summer camps โ๏ธ๐พ๐๐ป
Weโve actually had the BEST time over the three weeks we ran for, and the kids have been absolutely amazing ๐คฉ
We rounded things off with some work on serving, more Wipeout, lots of rallies, fun at the park with the boys making an impressive bridge in the sand, a pine cone from Louisa, friendships made, and the only flip side of three weeks of pretty much constant sun for our camps is possibly the worst trainer tan line Iโve ever had ๐๐ซ but a small price to pay, just no sandals for a few weeks ๐คฃ
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who booked in, who interacted with and shared our summer availability, and to the kids who have given us a fabulous few weeks.
Thanks also to Kirrin who was there every day, and Zoe, Murray, Fraser and Lois who have given up their time to make everything run that bit smoother ๐๐ป A special wee mention to Debs for organising and cooking on the barbecue each week too โบ๏ธ
I feel like I should also thank my pal Windy Wilson Weather and Road Reports for ordering the best weather for our camps ๐โ๏ธ๐ฅ
Summer 2026 over and out - now onto our term-time classes starting soon ๐ฅฐ๐๐ป

What. A. Day. โ๏ธ๐ฅ๐พ๐
Scorchio for the penultimate day of summer camps 2026 where we worked on moving to the ball on both forehand and backhand sides ๐๐ป The kids did have to venture under the tree for a bit of shade!
Onto lunch for barbecue fun (thanks to Debs for organising again ๐๐ป), more fun at the park, and finishing off with ice lollies which were actually accompanied by a bit of rain - a welcome wee shower for most, but not Murray who sat in the car ๐ and Lois who took cover under her hoodie ๐คฃ
I also had a huge nosebleed when Murray and I headed to the Asda petrol station in Birkhill where I was kindly thrown almost a whole toilet roll from a lovely man in a van, so a huge thank you to him if he happens to stumble upon this post, and also thank you to quite a few customers who kindly made sure I was okay while it was pouring from me and Murray was in buying the lollies ๐ซ ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
Looking forward to finishing the summer in style tomorrow ๐คฉ
