Dundee Clubs Tuesday Pool League

AGM for the 2026/27 season will be held 14th July at 7pm at the North End club.

Any proposals please get in touch with myself Gary Forbes.

Any new teams wanting to enter the league also get in touch with me.

We would like if there was at least 1 representative from each team at the AGM.

Well done last night to Shotz & Shotz F on the victories in the Jacqueline Hunt Memorial and Challenge Trophy. 🏆

2025/26 final league standings

Finals day report!

Well what a successful finals day that was certainly from the committees point of view everything ran very smoothly and was finished for a reasonable time.

Firstly thanks to Marc and Ryan for the year of sponsorship and for a great set up for finals day at Shotz Pool and Snooker Dundee. Thanks also to Maura and Connor on the bar all day kept everyone happy.

A great day for pool on and off the table between some good quality pool on the table and good quality laughs off the table.

Firstly we got going with our Player of the year competition and with what might come as abit of a shock for some our winner was John-Paul Bell. JP took down his side of the competition before a 0-2 to 3-2 comeback in the final against OFWs very own Davie Glen. JP takes the trophy home for the north end and very deservingly so. Well done JP.

Next we got going with our other competitions getting us down to the semi finals of each before our team cup finals.

Our 2 cups, the Steve Gray league cup and the challenge cup got underway.

The newly renamed league cup the ‘Steve Gray League cup’ was battled out between Shotz OFW and Old Mill. 2 of Dundees top teams going at it and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Tightly contested at 5-5 with the last 2 doubles to play OFW managed to sweep up the last 2 and take to victory 7-5. Well done OFW and unlucky to Old Mill.

Our other cup final was competed between Shotz & Douglas B which was a rematch of the challenge trophy final of last year. This game also was tightly contested and again got to 5-5 with Shotz being able to sweep up the last 2 doubles to win 7-5. Well done the Shotz and unlucky to Douglas B

After our Shotz double in the cups we moved back to our competitions which were our semi finals.

We got our way down to the final of the Singles,Doubles. 3/4 man & seniors. These were:

Singles - Davie Penman vs Lee Gordon
Doubles - Ryan Martin & Ryan Tenbruck vs Andy Wares & Dylan Gray
3/4 man - Mcgurtys A vs Old Mill
Seniors - Jimmy Po***ck vs Mark Mcgurty

We cracked on with the doubles final first which seen the 2 Ryan’s being able to takedown the Shotz team of Andy and Dylan 4-1. Well done to Ryan and Ryan and unlucky to Andy and Dylan.

Next up was a tense 3/4 man final that saw Old mill comeback from 0-2 to 2-2 but Mcgurtys thought Mark Mcgurty and Kevin Rae was able to takedown the last double to achieve a 3-2 victory for Mcgurtys A (Mcgurty,Rae & Anderson) well done to them and unlucky to Old Mill.

We then got to the big one the Tuesday singles which saw Davie Penman successful takeout Lee Gordon 5-2. Lee with a very good run to the final just ran out of gas against the ever so classy Davie Penman. Well done Davie and unlucky Lee.

Finally our seniors final was closely competed between Mark Mcgurty and Jimmy Po***ck. But it was the legendary Po***ck name that was able to add to is never ending collection of tournament wins. Well done Jinky and unlucky Mark.

Thank yous all for a great 2025/26 one more league week and 2 cup finals to go until our summer break.

I’ll be looking forward to doing it all again for 2026/27.

Last week of league pool this week with next week being the finale of the season with 2 cup finals.

Your DCTPL champs of 2025/26 - The Old Mill 🏆

Well done to John and his guys a brilliant season all round and deserving champs. Last 3 games 3 wins against their top 3 rivals in Shotz and Shotz OFW. Been a few year for the mill but back they are back on top for 2026 so congratulations guys. 👏

Still a second place battle between Shotz and Shotz OFW next week to finish off the league.

This Saturday is our finals day!! Let’s make it a class day. I will be at shotz from 10 getting set up. Draw for POTY will be made at 10.30 with the rest to follow straight after. Play will start at 1045 sharp! Bar is open at 11.
