Based at Forthill Community Sports Club in Broughty Ferry, Forfarshire Cricket Club runs four senior teams and a thriving junior section with teams at under 18, under 16, under 14 and under 12 levels. In 2019 the club launched a Women's section offering regular CricHIIT and softball sessions. Forfarshire 1st XI won the 2019 Cricket Scotland Grand Final and Eastern Premiership, before rounding off

Our Scotland Seniors Cricket 60s brought their first IMC World Cup group-stage campaign to a close with a 66-run defeat to New Zealand, who posted 260-5 from their 45 overs. Bob Angus and Shahid Mahmood led the bowling attack with two wickets apiece, while Michael Lumsden also claimed a wicket.
To finish third in the group, Scotland needed to chase down 261 to win, or reach 243 to secure third place on net run rate. Unfortunately, a disastrous start left Scotland struggling at 27-3 before Graeme Garden (80) and Tim Preston-Jones (50) produced an excellent 112-run partnership to steady the innings and give Scotland hope.
However, it wasnβt to be, as Scotland eventually finished on 194-9. Despite the defeat, Scotland can be hugely proud of a landmark World Cup campaign. They secured three group-stage victories and finished fourth in the group, demonstrating the skill, resilience and team spirit required to compete at this level on the international stage.
The biggest disappointment will undoubtedly be the narrow defeat to India, but the overall performance has underlined that Scotland belong among the worldβs best Over 60s teams.
Today, Scotland move into the play-off stages, where they will face Wales with 7th or 8th place at stake.
