Hello everyone, we are back! 🏐🎉

Welcome to the 2026-2027 volleyball season! 🙌
We are very excited to get started again, and we have some great things planned for this coming year.

A slightly overdue post, but we couldn’t finish the year without looking back at the Student Beach Volleyball Championships at Portobello Beach! ☀️🏐

Three weeks ago, we were treated to fantastic weather, great volleyball, and a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day.

Congratulations to our champions, semi-finalists, and everyone who took part. A special shoutout to all those involved in the 4v4 Recreational Tournament, which brought plenty of energy and fun to the day.
We even managed to keep the courts in play despite a close encounter with the rising tide! 🌊😂
Thank you to all the volunteers, officials, supporters, and competitors who travelled to Edinburgh and helped make the event such a success.

Throwing it back to last year’s Student Beach Volleyball Championships at Portobello Beach ☀️🏐

We’re looking forward to returning to the sand this Saturday for the 16th Student Beach Volleyball Championships in Edinburgh! Although the forecast is looking slightly less “beach paradise” and slightly more “bring a hoodie and a rain jacket just in case”.

Expect a full day of action featuring:
🏐 Men’s & Women’s 2v2 Championships
🏐 Mixed 4v4 Tournament

Whether you’re competing or just coming along to support, spectators are very welcome throughout the day. Come down to Portobello Beach and enjoy some great student beach volleyball action 💪

Please allow plenty of time for travel through Edinburgh on Saturday morning, as it is always a busy day.

Student volleyball in Scotland wouldn’t run without the incredible work of our volunteers, now’s your club’s chance to recognise someone who’s made a real impact!

✨ Nominations are quick and simple, just up to 500 words on how this volunteer has made a difference. It is straightforward to complete and not a big job, so take the chance to give someone the credit they deserve.

Campus Chronicles: St Andrews University 💙🤍

Next up is St Andrews University Volleyball Club, a club that continues to grow , combining competitive success with an inclusive and expanding club environment 🤝
This year their Women’s 1s have secured promotion to the BUCS Premier League and have reached the SSS Cup Final for the third consecutive year, highlighting their consistency at the highest level. Meanwhile, the Women’s 2s have also made their mark, reaching the finals of the BUCS Scottish Conference Cup.
Depth across the club is clear, with a competitive developmental team now thriving in its third year , creating a strong pathway for player progression.
Off the court, the club continues to expand opportunities for all players; introducing open court sessions and hosting two successful Volleythons - inter-university tournaments for recreational players focused on bringing universities together beyond the competitive game and strengthening the wider student volleyball community.

And with the SSS Cup Finals taking place TODAY in Edinburgh, all eyes are on St Andrews Women’s 1 as they look to make their mark once again 👀🔥🚀

From performance to participation, St Andrews continues to build a well-rounded and ambitious volleyball programme in Scotland 💙🤍
