π« Myth Monday
You need to get fit before you join a gym or an exercise class...
This is one of the biggest myths I hear.
The truth? You don't need to be "fit enough" to start.
Everyone starts somewhere, and becoming more active is how fitness develops... not something you have to achieve first.
I believe exercise should feel welcoming, supportive and achievable, especially if you're returning after a break or taking your first steps towards being more active.
The evidence is clear: doing some physical activity is better than doing none, and every step towards being more active has health benefits*

π¬ Have you ever delayed joining a gym or class because you felt you needed to get fitter first?

I'm a fitness instructor...
β¦and I don't always love exercising!
People assume that because I teach fitness, I wake up every day excited to work out.
The truth?
Sometimes it's the last thing I feel like doing.
I've struggled with motivation.
I've struggled with consistency.
I've struggled with confidence.
I've struggled with body image.
I've been there too.
One of the reasons I started teaching fitness was because getting paid to exercise gave me the accountability I needed.
Not exactly the glamorous story people expect!
Over time, I realised something important...
The women I wanted to help weren't lazy.
They weren't lacking willpower.
Life was just... life.
Busy jobs.
Family commitments.
Low energy.
Feeling like they had to be "all in" or not bother at all.
What changed everything for me wasn't finding more motivation.
It was changing my reason for moving.
Instead of asking,
"How can I change my body?"
I started asking,
"What do I want my body to help me do?"
For me, that's saying yes to adventures.
Scuba diving.
Travelling.
Exploring.
Having the confidence and energy to make memories that will last a lifetime.
That's why you'll never hear me tell women they need to earn their food.
Or punish themselves with exercise.
Or chase someone else's version of "healthy."
Because health isn't a look.
It's a feeling.
It's confidence.
It's capability.
It's living the life you want.
If you've ever felt like you weren't "motivated enough"...
You're not alone.
Let's stop chasing perfection and start building consistency instead. π
π Tell me...
What's your biggest struggle when it comes to exercise?
