๐ŸŽจ A Summer of Hope at Perth Civic Hall

Perth Civic Hall was filled with colour, creativity and some fantastic artwork on Monday as we celebrated this year's Summer of Hope Art Exhibition.

Now in its fourth year, Summer of Hope brings people together through creativity and celebrates the role art can play in recovery.

Among the work on display was a collaborative abstract piece created by residents at HMP Castle Huntly, who took part in creative sessions through Hillcrest Futures' Recovery Conversation Cafe alongside NHS Tayside's Substance Use team.

We were also delighted to see local artist David Fitzpatrick exhibiting his work. David attends UNITY community CAFE and SCYD in Blairgowrie and has used creativity as part of his own recovery journey over the years. ๐ŸŽจ

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to our partners Perth & Kinross Sports Council's Alcohol and Drug Partnership, UNITY community CAFE, The Walled Garden & Wisecraft and All Strong for helping make another Summer of Hope possible.

We're also supporting next week across Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross. Visit our website to find out more: https://hillcrest.org.uk/hillcrest-futures-supporting-international-overdose-awareness-day-2026-events/

โ˜€๏ธโœˆ๏ธ Shauna had a fantastic holiday to Gran Canaria in June with support workers Gwen and Maddie from our Alexander Street service in Dundee.

From relaxing by the pool with cocktails to a game of mini golf, Shauna made the most of her time away. One of the highlights of the trip was spotting her favourite Disney character, Stitch, on the beach!

Shauna also loved staying in an all-inclusive hotel, and the holiday got off to an even better start when she was surprised with a room upgrade on arrival.

The fun continued right to the final night when Shauna attended a comedy drag show, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She said she'd love to see the performers again if they tour in the UK.

It sounds like a holiday full of fun, laughter and special memories. ๐Ÿ’™

A weekend to remember for David! ๐Ÿฐ๐ŸŽบ

David, who is supported by our Houston Court service in Cupar, recently enjoyed a two-night break with a visit to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo as the highlight.

After travelling on his favourite bus and settling into a hotel near Dunfermline, David enjoyed a visit to Pittencrieff Park to see the peacocks. On Saturday, he and his support worker headed to South Queensferry to watch the Burryman Procession before making their way to Edinburgh Castle for the main event.

The Tattoo has been a special tradition for David for more than 10 years, and judging by the smile on his face, he had a fantastic time. He's already looking forward to next year!

At Houston Court, we're proud to support people to enjoy the experiences and traditions that matter most to them.

Hillcrest Futures was proud to participate in the Walk in Hope event at North Inch Park, Perth last weekend.

Hosted by the Perth and Kinross Council Alcohol & Drug Partnership, the event brought together people in recovery and organisations from across the sector to challenge stigma and promote understanding around alcohol and drug recovery.

Representing Hillcrest Futures were colleagues from our Perth Drug & Alcohol Team and members of the Dundee Community Recovery Service walking group, accompanied by staff members Alan and Sarah.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with partners and community organisations including Churches Action for The Homeless (CATH), Turning Point Scotland, HMP Perth, HMP Castle Huntly, UK SMART Recovery Scotland, Andys Man Club Perth, All Strong, NHS Tayside, UNITY community CAFE, PKAVS, Upside Throughcare and many more.

By coming together and walking side by side, participants demonstrated the importance of collaboration, compassion and community in supporting recovery journeys and challenging stigma.
