🚨 BIG NEWS! 🚨
Our downstairs bouldering area has been open for over 10 years, and it’s finally time for a refresh! 🎉
Over the next few weeks we’ll be:
🟢 Installing brand-new matting
🎨 Giving the area a fresh coat of paint
🧗♂️ Completing a full circuit reset across all colours
Work starts this week and is due to be completed by mid-July.
Don’t worry — our upstairs bouldering areas will remain fully open, and we’ll be adding plenty of new problems both on and off circuit to keep things fresh while the work takes place. 💪
If you’re a member, now could be the perfect time to book onto one of our FREE ropes courses and start your rope climbing journey. 🧗
👀 Bonus challenge: Do you know who the climber is in the first photo, taken in our upstairs bouldering area back in 2003?
📸 The second photo shows the downstairs area before AVW, when the building was still an auctioneer’s warehouse!
We’re excited to keep investing in and improving Avertical World, and we can’t wait to share more updates with you soon.
Thanks for your patience and support while we make these changes. We know the finished result will be worth the wait! ❤️

Just a wee reminder to our members that you can bring friends & family for their 1st visit to the centre for free. You also receive 4 guest passes, which refresh every month. Guests brought by members must be new to the centre, meaning they have not previously signed in or climbed at Avertical World.

Setting update: new lead routes at the back of the alter; new red circuit across all grades; & topped up yellow & white circuit so there are 20 problems in each of the red, white & yellow.

Bouldering update: we have removed the red & yellow circuit and now the red circuit stretches over all the grades; everyone can now enjoy the wide variety of holds types we have in red. We’re also adding more problems into the yellow, white & red circuit so there will be more climbs overall in the centre.
