Top tip..........
Back to school yesterday and despite the weather we seen lots of pupils using pedal power to get themselves into school. AMAZING!
Our top tip for this week is..........
Combination locks 🔒
No one likes keys, keys get lost! Being an adult usually means having to have lots of keys. Did I mention keys get lost!!!!🔑
Combination locks where you DONT need a key are GREAT! you can’t lose the keys. 🙈
Every year lots of key bike locks have to be retired early(hacksawed right off) and it’s a shame no one likes being hacksawed right off! As always yesterday was no exception 🤨
If possible ditch those key bike locks and keys and get the combination one 👌🏼

Applications have been flooding in for our new apprentice positions for the coming year. Lots of S3 pupils interested and that’s great news for the project.
As well as the social enterprise aspects of the project did you know we run the project like a work experience?
Pupils must complete written application before going through an interview with a 3 person panel.
Successful candidates are then offered a trial place where they go through staff training and after the initial trial period given a full review which includes review of attendance and behaviour in mainstream classes.
If all goes well after the trial they are now apprentices on the project but the work experience doesn’t stop there....apprentices have performance reviews after 1 month, 4months, 8months then end of year.
At that stage if all goes well they are offered a promotion to a mechanic on the project.
We think this is a great insight into the world of work how about you?

We are looking for new S3 Apprentice Mechanics to join our SPCS Bike maintenance and repair Social Enterprise Project.
This exciting opportunity is a great chance to work in school, in a workplace environment learning real employability and practical skills.
Whether you have an interest in bikes or a total beginner, we are looking for enthusiastic pupils who are willing to work in our project to learn and develop throughout S3 and then move on and become mechanics in S4.
Speak to Liam (PSW), Stephen (SSW) or Miss McFarlane (DYW) for application form or more info. WE NEED YOU!
