⚫️⚪️The Journey Comes to an End ⚪️⚫️

This post has been a long time coming and will no doubt now be widely known. With teams beginning pre season looking to the 26/27 season ahead it is time to announce that unfortunately Broughty United 2010’s will not be continuing into the 26/27 Under 17’s season. Our journey ends with a third place finish in the DDYFA Maryfield Under 16’s League.

Good luck and all the best to the boys that have been part of the team on this incredible journey over the last 3 seasons. From being crowned League and Cup Double Champions in their debut 23/24 season. A 4th place finish and season best DDYFA Cup Semi Final 24/25 season. A 3rd place finish and season best last 16 of the Inspire Sport Scottish Youth Cup and Quarter Final of the East Region Cup 25/26 season 👏🏻⚽️

🏅Maryfield League - Game 15 Result🏅

Broughty United 2010s were again at home welcoming DUSC to a very heavy Claypotts pitch with an extremely heavy wind.

It was a scrappy affair. The pitch and conditions making it difficult for both teams. DUSC however took the advantage in the first half with the wind at their backs going into the break 2-0 up.

Half Time:
Broughty United 0 v DUSC 2

The second half saw Broughty playing down the slight slope towards the sports centre and with the wind behind them. Unfortunately they couldn’t make it count and with DUSC grabbing a third against the run of play killed off the game to claim all three points.

Broughty United 2010s were at home to Montrose Youth on a very heavy Claypotts pitch. Prior to kickoff, both teams, players and coaches, held a minutes silence in memory of Charlie Melville of Fairmuir 2015s, who sadly passed away recently. Thoughts are with the family at this time. ❤️

The match started as we expected. The first 15 minutes, each team could not play the football that they would have hoped they could as they were cancelling each other out.

Montrose managed to take the lead with a “pinball” effort and the ball then trundled over the line.

Broty eventually managed to equalise through Harvey to go 1-1. Both teams then fought hard and both sides would argue there were ‘missed’ opportunities to take the advantage into the break.

Half Time:
Broughty United 1 v Montrose Youth 1

The second half, Broughty were playing down the slight slope towards the sports centre. The message at the break was to continue to press, not to argue with the referee and shoot on sight of goal.

Broughty had multiple opportunities to take the lead but it wasn’t to be their day.

The game ended all square with both teams taking a share of the points.
