A fantastic afternoon for Heston Rovers 2017 at the Crichton, taking on Greystone Rovers 2017, Queen of the South Community Trust, Soccerbees Girls and Annan Athletic 2017.

The boys worked hard to keep possession, move the ball quickly and support each other all over the pitch. The understanding between teammates is improving every week, and it was great to see the boys showing confidence to play football even under pressure.

There were plenty of strong tackles, battles won, and moments of quality against excellent opposition, but the biggest positive was seeing the team work together and continue developing as a group.

Thanks as always to our parents and supporters for their fantastic encouragement from the sidelines.

🌍⚽ Last Sunday, some of the Heston 2017 boys took part in the annual Heston Rovers Mini World Cup 2026! ⚽🌍

The tournament format was:
🏆 Two groups of six teams
⚽ Each team played five group matches
📈 The top two teams from each group progressed to the semi-finals
⭐ Players earned points based on their age group

Represented countries from around the world were:

A huge well done to all the children who took part and represented their countries with great effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day. 👏

Congratulations to 🇵🇹 Portugal for reaching the semi-finals, and a special congratulations to 🇪🇬 Egypt for lifting the World Cup trophy! 🏆

This morning, the Heston 2017's travelled to Moffat for matches hosted by Upper Annandale FC. All the boys delivered an excellent performance, with fantastic football on display throughout.

A great set of games against the hosts, Biggar Juniors, Morton Thistle Juniors 2017s , Annan Athletic 2017s, Dalbeattie Star and Queen of the South Community Trust. Thanks to everyone for the matches ⚽️

📈 Great progress shown for the Heston boys in passing, finishing and teamwork 💪

The 2017's will be hosting matches on Saturday 16th May.

🅿️ There are limited parking spaces at Blairmount Park, we therefore ask that you park on an area of land adjacent to to park. The postcode DG8 6QD will take you directly to the parking.

The 2017's headed down to a sunny Galabank this morning. The team's worked hard in the heat which wasn’t easy. Some good passing and moving and of course some good goals scored. Also some great goalkeeping as well!!
