Crichton Royal Bowling Club

Three teams from the Crichton Royal Bowling Club entered the Ronnie McEwan Memorial Trophy mixed triples which was held at Maxwelltown Bowling Club on the 5th September 2026. Two of the teams reached the semi-finals, see results below taken from the Maxwelltown Bowling Clubs page. Many thanks to the organisers, greenkeepers, catering and BAR staff for a great day of bowls.

The Crichton Royal Bowling Club hosted the McClure Open Pairs competition on Saturday 29th August 2026, with 24 teams taking part in perfect weather. The final was played in front of a large crowd of players and spectators with the game certainly being worthy of a final.

Cathy and Jane McClure presented the runners up, Harry Marchbank and Gary Stewart from Thornhill Bowling Club with their prize. While Cathy McClure presented the trophy to the winners Scott Cameron and Jason Kirkpatrick from Marchmount Bowling Club with the McClure Cup.

Prostate Buddies D&G representative Robert Copland paid a visit to the Crichton Royal Bowling Club on their opening day and handed out posters and leaflets to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer. Robert is a very active ambassador for Prostate Buddies and once he had completed his task, “he had a go at bowling”. Club member Alister McCubbin gave some tuition and Robert then threw his first Jack and Bowls. A natural talent!
