Cardross Golf Club

One of the best inland parkland golf courses in the west of Scotland, Cardross, has gently undulating fairways and large deciduous trees as features.

Cardross Golf Club is located in the centre of the village, a few miles from the town of Dumbarton along the west coast of Scotland. Cardross Golf Club was established in 1895. The club’s current golf course benefited from design changes recommended by James Braid which were implemented in 1921. Cardross has also played host to the Scottish Professional Championships in 1992, which was won by the then future Open Champion Paul Lawrie. Cardross is considered one of the best inland parkland golf courses in the west of Scotland and it’s not difficult to see why. The course has gently undulating fairways and large deciduous trees as features. The golf course is only a few miles from the world renowned Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and boasts incredible views over the River Clyde. Cardross Golf Club is situated on the A814 and is easily accessible from the city of Glasgow, which is only a 35 minute drive away. There is also a direct train between the village and the city. Glasgow Airport is only 20 minutes away making Cardross ideal for a golfing holiday. Cardross is an 18 hole parkland course with a par of 71 and a length of 5911m. The course is set on an interesting layout with some great, challenging holes and tends to play longer than the yardage suggests. Visitor and societies are welcome to play Cardross Golf Club and tee times can be booked throughout the week. Some discounted tee times will be available using the online booking system. Green fees for this course are very reasonable. Prices may vary according to season and weekend tickets are typically more expensive. Clubs and pull and electric trolleys and buggies are available to hire from the club. Cardross has a very welcoming and comfortable clubhouse fully equipped with changing and locker room facilities. The club has a bar serving a wide selection of drinks and excellent catering is available, must be booked in advance during winter months. Cardross has a well-stocked professional’s shop selling a variety of golfing equipment and accessories. The shop always try and offer price matches and try to beat a cheaper price. Golf tuition is also available. The club has a practice area and a putting green which are perfect for golfers who wish to fine tune their skills and warm up before a round on the course.

📣We are delighted to announce our 2026 Ladies Club Champion... Lori MacDonald!

Last Saturday day had an incredible finish and a good summer of golf knockouts culminated in Ladies Finals Day, with some superb performances, close matches and plenty of drama right to the final green.

A very good match, with great golf from tee to green. this match went all the way to the 18th. Lorraine shot an excellent gross 81, but Lori edged it with a brilliant gross 80.

📣We are absolutely delighted to present our 2026 Cardross Gent’s Club Champion… Brian Doherty!

With the course in superb condition and Captain Isabel seeing every player off, Championship Sunday began with just seven shots separating the field. A tightly packed leader board set up a dramatic final round, with Brian 'Doc' Doherty, Terry Smith, Alan Vickers, Jim Hawker and Liam Halliday all in early contention.

Steady golf from Doc kept him at the top through the front nine, while challenges from Vickers and Smith produced one of the most exciting finishes in recent years. Momentum swung repeatedly over the closing holes, including a superb up‑and‑down birdie from Doherty at 16 that proved decisive.

Playing the last with composure, Brian safely found the green and rolled home his final putt to claim the title on 146, securing his long‑awaited Championship victory. A fantastic performance and thoroughly deserved. Congratulations, Brian!

Commiserations to Alan Vickers, Cameron Black and Terry Smith, who played their part in a brilliant contest.

🏆Our Macleod Trophy winner for best nett score (8 handicap and above) is Calum MacKenzie – congratulations, Calum!

Last Sunday saw our early rising 'Dawn Patrol' group face off in an Over 50s versus Under 50s match in aid of Robin House Children's Hospice.

A great day in the sun was had by all, the Under 50s claimed victory by 4 1/2 to 1 1/2, and a fantastic £500 was raised for the charity.

Absolutely brilliant work from all involved.

Every golf club has a story, and ours has been shaped by generations of members who have played, socialised and created lasting memories at Cardross Golf Club.

For many years, our unique art-deco style clubhouse has been at the heart of that story. While our golf course has continued to evolve and benefit from significant investment, we knew the time had come to give the clubhouse the care and attention it deserved.

These photographs capture far more than new carpets and decor. They represent our commitment to ensuring that every member, visitor and guest enjoys an experience that matches the quality of the golf course itself.

We want Cardross Golf Club to be somewhere you look forward to visiting. Whether you're relaxing with a well earned refreshment post-game, meeting friends for lunch, celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a coffee. A welcoming clubhouse is every bit as important as great greens and fairways.
