What a fantastic feast of tennis as our club championships finals were hotly contested across 9 categories. Congratulations to all our finalists for a fantastic day of entertaining , competitive and sporting play. Well done to all our champions and also our worthy finalists. Tennis has been the real winner .
Gents singles: Champion Michael Corcoran, Runner Up Ross Birss.
Ladies singles: Champion Karen Haggarty , Runner Up Anna Currie.
Gents Over 40 singles: Champion Douglas MacKechnie, Runner Up Matt Dale.
Gents Doubles Champions: Ross Birss & Andrew McCollum, Runners Up Douglas and Lewis Mackechnie .
Ladies Doubles Champions: Anna Currie and Lynne Dempster, Runners Up Karen Haggarty and Trish Cameron.
Mixed Doubles Champions: Douglas Mackechnie and Fiona MacDonald ,
Runners up Joseph and Lynne Dempster.
Gents Pot Luck Doubles: Champions Ross Birss and Paul Donnelly, Runners Up Douglas Mackechnie and Ryan McCafferty.
Ladies Pot Luck Doubles: Champions Karen Haggarty and Clare Donnelly,
Runners Up Fiona MacDonald and Gayle Miller. Mixed Pot Luck Doubles: Champions Ross Birss and Clare Donnelly Runners Up Joseph Dempster and Anna Currie. Final shout out to Anna for winning the very entertaining 1 point slam - and thanks to Gerry who has donated a coaching session as the prize for this . Thanks all once again for a fabulous day for our club.

Saturday September 12th is Club Championships Finals Day. We hope lots of our members will make it along throughout the day to enjoy the tennis and cheer on our finalists. Play starts at 10am and is continuous throughout the day , lunch break aside- when we hope lots of you will take part in our One Point Slam, an exciting one point shoot out with the winner earning a coaching session with Coach Gerry. Thanks to all who supported this year’s Pat Leonard Trophy Competition. A hugely enjoyable and competitive afternoon of tennis saw Anna and Joseph crowned winners . Congratulations to them and to our runners up, Lynne and Matthew. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏆 Thanks to the man himself, Pat, for joining us to enjoy the tennis and present his trophy.

A massive THANK YOU to all Cardross Tennis Club and Dumbarton club members who came along to this afternoon’s John Smith Trophy event. A fantastic turnout saw a hugely entertaining afternoon of tennis topped off with a thrilling final win by Ross and Anna to bring the trophy back to Dumbarton. £210 was raised for the British Heart Foundation. A fitting tribute to our much missed friend and President John. Thanks again everyone for a ‘smash’ing afternoon. 🎾

It’s almost time ladies! Thinking about taking up tennis? Come along to our Ladies Open Day this Saturday, 8th August. Meet our lovely lady members, check out our facilities, enjoy a blether, a cuppa, Gayle’s scones (worth coming for these alone !!! ) and maybe even some tennis. 🎾 Don’t let the weather forecast put you off- even if it’s raining, we’ll still be there for the scones, the chat and to show you our facilities and answer any questions.
