We are a small business that has been coaching early years and essentially primary school rugby for over 12 years.

Our achievements:-
🏉 Over 650 children coached rugby each week in schools through PE and after-school clubs
🏉 3 major school festivals organised and over 1,500 children coached/refereed over the 4 days
🏉 Over 1,500 children coached at our 3-Ball camps over the school term holidays
🏉 Over 10 coaches under 20 years of age given coaching opportunities in schools/camps/festivals and 1 full-time employed rugby apprentice all progressing towards their England Rugby coaching qualification.
🏉 Over 600 children progressing from nursery/school rugby to rugby clubs across the area

We are the No 1 coaching provider of rugby across Hampshire and Dorset but our work is only partly done!

We would like your sponsorship to go towards our secondary school rugby coaching development where there is a massive gap between coaching experience and availability to go into secondary schools.

Sammy the Lions aged 3-5 sessions are back at Chapel Gate, home of Bournemouth Rugby starting Sunday 13th September 2026 9:30 till 10:30am.

Through the ranks 🦁

There’s a lot more behind these names than just a place on a senior team sheet.

Every player highlighted has come through Bournemouth Rugby’s Minis or Youth sections, with many going on through Colts and into the senior setup.

For some, rugby started in school through our community partner Stuart Gallacher . Others have had opportunities within academy rugby along the way.

But ultimately, it’s about playing rugby, enjoying it and having somewhere to keep progressing as you grow up.

Schools → Minis → Youth → Colts → Seniors.

🏉 Mini & Youth Rugby — Almost Time!
Not long to go now… our Minis & Youth return on Sunday 6th September at 10am!

Rugby is one of the best adventures a child can jump into — it helps them grow strong, make brilliant friends, and learn values that last a lifetime. Kind teamwork, fair play, confidence, resilience… it all starts right here on the pitch.

At our club, every child is welcome. Big, small, speedy, steady — rugby has a place for everyone, and every player gets to feel included, supported, and proud of what they can do.

By practising together, kids learn how to keep trying, cheer each other on, and turn fun physical activity into real‑life skills they’ll use every day.
