Better late than never.

If you have ever wondered who takes all the park run pics at Blandford Park Run it's this fella John.

Last week he retired his camera after volunteering for 500 parkruns.

I unfortunately missed it due to other commitments.

By chance he was there this week as a spectator so I asked for a selfie.

I said before the race that if I got around the 50 min mark I would be happy.

My last 10km wasn't a trail run as it was more road and track and I ran it in 47.59.
That was 14 years ago and I was 33 I'm now 47.
This route was more tricky what with the tree roots, the awkward narrow bit and the stiles so I'm definitely proud of my achievement.

There is definitely more in me and I believe I can do better than my time 14 years ago.

Now that I know I can do it I need to go again soon.

Today i took part in my first 10km race since the 2012 "Blandford Bridges Run" (remember them?)

To quote my circuits client Charlotte "It was about time I did one"

The race today was the Phil and Bonnie Bounder raising money for mosaic and a working donkeys charity.
A lovely mainly off road race taking us around Moreton near Dorchester and the surrounding area.

I have no idea how I got on because I think i messed up my strava somehow.

An official time will come eventually.

Back to parkrun next week...

Hard work pays off !!!

I couldn't agree more.

All those sessions in the gym, lifting weights,and running on the treadmill.
All the previous Park runs in the cold and heat.
It's all paying off.
Another 2 pb's in the bag and up to second in my age group.
It's a shame I dropped my glasses during the run because I think it could have been quicker.
