Congratulations to Nell Colclough and Emma well done from all of us. πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ‰πŸ‰

South Yorkshire referees are immensely proud to announce that Nel and Emma have been selected as part of the 2026/27 Every rose programme cohort.

This is a massive achievement for both who have worked extremely hard to reach this point.

Congratulations, and enjoy it! πŸ‰

After careful consideration and consultation with clubs across England, the RFU has decided to delay the start of the competitive community game season until the week commencing Monday 21 September.

The RFU recognises this will be disappointing for clubs, players and volunteers who have been preparing for the new season, but the decision follows consideration of a range of factors. For full details please follow this link.

Everyone at White Roses Charity Rugby is heartbroken to hear of the passing of one of our rugby brothers Ant β€œbutch” Butcher.

Most of us have played alongside him as a teammate or opposition at some point. A great ambassador to the game and great character who will be very sadly missed.

We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends and teammates. RIP Butch πŸ’”πŸ‰

MATCH ROUND-UP β€” THORNENSIANS RUFC v WHITE ROSES

What a day. What a game. What a result for charity. πŸ’™πŸ€

Over 50 players pulled on a shirt and took to the field as White Roses Charity Rugby Team went head-to-head with Thornensians RUFC in a hard-fought and hugely entertaining charity game.

There were some massive hits, great tackles, fantastic speed and some brilliant rugby skills on display throughout. But, as always with White Roses, the score was never the most important thing.

The real winners on the day were Cancer Research UK, with the event raising an incredible £1,034+ for the charity. ❀️

And what made the day even more special was seeing some of the younger Colts players stepping up and taking to the field for their first taste of senior rugby. What an experience for them β€” and hopefully the first of many appearances in a White Roses shirt! πŸ‰πŸ‘

Away from the rugby, there was something for everyone. The kids enjoyed the bouncy castles, spectators enjoyed the food and cold beers in the glorious sunshine, and after the final whistle the beers continued while everyone enjoyed the raffle and charity auction β€” all helping to push that fundraising total even higher.

πŸ’™ A HUGE THANK YOU πŸ’™

White Roses Charity Rugby Team would like to say a massive THANK YOU to Abbi and Thornensians RUFC for hosting us and for helping make the day such a fantastic success.

Thank you to every volunteer, fundraiser and organiser who put their time and effort into making the event happen.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support us, whether you were there to watch, donate, take part or simply enjoy the day.

And a special thank you to Nell, our referee, who did a fantastic job keeping control of what was at times a seriously competitive game β€” and who incredibly donated her referee’s fee back to the charity. What a gesture. πŸ‘β€οΈ

But most importantly…

πŸ‰ THANK YOU TO EVERY SINGLE PLAYER πŸ‰

To every player who pulled on a shirt, stepped over that white line and represented White Roses β€” thank you.

Whether you played for five minutes or the full game, whether you made a crunching tackle, scored a try, made a break, passed the ball or simply stood shoulder-to-shoulder with your teammates…

Your support and contribution to this team and to the charities we support is priceless.

Over 50 players. One team. One purpose.
Raising money, raising awareness and bringing people together through rugby.

Well done everyone. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

πŸ’™πŸ€ THIS IS WHY WE LOVE THIS GAME. πŸ€πŸ’™
