Hyde Park Knight JFC

First game of the season was away at Mexborough for our Under 13s.

It was expected to be a closely fought game and it did not disappoint.

The first half was an even affair with both times having chances but both defences holding firm with both keepers making saves. We never quite got our runs right at times and the offside flag was constantly used today. Mexborough took the lead though before half time after a mistake at the back leading to an OG.

A few changes were made at half time which is the benefit of having a big squad.

Again the 2nd half carried on like the first half with both teams going end to end. Mexborough extended their lead though going 2-0 and in the driving seat.

The lads showed tremendous character though with Dimi leading the line and starting the press from up front. He managed to get on the end of one with his relentless running and made it 2-1.

Mexborough then gave a penalty away with a handball which Khaled converted to even the scores 2-2.

It looked like there was only going to be one winner at this point and the 6 week fitness programme the team has undertaken with Accelerate Coaching Started to pay off. It was that lad Dimi again after a ball over top from Muta Dimi chased it down rounded keeper and tapped it home with about 2 minutes to go.

It finished 3-2 to Hyde Park and what a way to start the season.

Man of match was Emmanuel he was superb in everything he did today winning his duals and driving forward from defence when he the space to do so.

Hyde park knights u12R vs FPCA Football club u12

This was Hyde parks first game at 9 a side. And playing up a year too having decided to jump from u10s last season to u12s this season in order to play 9v9.

The game started and the home team took control early on, a goal soon came for Tommy Spooner with a beauty on his weak foot from the edge of the area assisted by Carter.
Hyde park then got awarded a penalty which Spooner just put wide. Lucky for him Charlie G put the home team 2-0 up minutes later.
A third came not long after from the No.9 Spooner assisted this time by Charlie G.
The visitors got back into the game a bit and scored one back to make it 3-1.
Before the end of the half Charlie G got his second of the game. Assisted by Spooner.

The second half kicked off and Hyde park were straight on the front foot again. A 5th goal soon came this time an unfortunate own goal from the visitors from a Charlie G cross.
Not long after Charlie G got another, assisted by George making it 6-1 and bagging himself a hat trick.
The visitors had a few chances themselves but were unable to convert or break down Hyde park’s defence.
The last 2 goals came from the No.10 Carter. Both goals very similar. Running through the away team’s defence, cutting inside onto his preferred left foot and curling home 2 beauty’s.

Great performance from the boys, from the keeper to the striker. They all played their socks off.
And 2 debuts for Jacob and Amir today aswell, both did excellent and fitted right in.

Our brand new Under 11s had their first game as a team today. What a brilliant effort from them all coming away with 1-0 win, in a friendly. They are all absolutely buzzing and so they should be

Our Under 12 Reds had a bit of pre season bonding yesterday and a bit of a treat for winning their Europa League final at the Scawthorpe tournament a few weeks ago A great day was had by them all.

Under 9s - Europa League winners Redfearns JFC U9s brilliant little side who battled all day and came away with a trophy

Under 10s - Champions League winners Hyde Park Knights Blues winning their age group trophy for a 3rd year in a row

Europa League winners main brilliant effort from the whole team to come away with the trophy

Under 11s - Champions League winners DSC Elite Football - Their grassroots team only scoring 2 goals across the tournament but it was enough to win the big one

Europa League - Tickhill Juniors Football Club brilliant victory in the final beating our own Hyde Park Blacks

Under 12s - Champions League winners Handsworth Junior Sporting Club finished 2nd in their group but had enough to get over the line in the knockout phases

Europa League winners - Dinnington Town FC great performances in the knockout stages
