A rollercoaster of a day for Lucian, taking some big hits and losing his head at times. His points match was particularly up and down but he managed to nail the win. It can be so hard for the little ones to keep their cool when they feel like everything is stacked against them. Some learning to take away from this and quite a bit of work is needed on those emotions for the next one. Well done for keeping going dude.

Something happened in Aiden in some parts of the IMAC open where he actually performed how we knew he could. Fighting smart in some categories allowing him to dominate and fight the taller kids his way and not being drawn into their fight. He still needs to listen and execute game plans with points particularly if trailing behind. His 8-9 years points match had the room on fire, going to extra time and eventally taking the win with a well timed kick to the head. Great introduction to musical forms winning his first one and hopefully the start of this new journey. Finishing second on the leader board is a great achievement, well done!

Second competition for Jeremy and first time trying points. He is a natural points fighter and this was evident winning his first ever points match 13-0 and landing a brilliant spinning hook kick to the head to score 4 points sealing the deal! Jeremy was as cool as a cucumber all day and has really took well to competing and upping his training. Just need a headband to stop that hair flopping in your face! Very proud of you Jeremy.

A mixed bag for Tommy, excellent in his points, martial box against Rojus and hands only against Aiden M showing real flair and maturity. We definitely think Tommy is more suited to points style fighting. His first bout in light continuous was a difficult one and one we really need to learn from and never repeat but after a few minutes he composed himself and won the bronze match in style and more importantly with great composure and respect. Tommy you've come on so much these last 12 months or so and let's concentrate on the positives.

He faced the boy who dislocated his shoulder a few months ago in squad training in most of his categories. He was nervous and took a shot to the same shoulder in the first 20 seconds of the first match. He was checked over by a medic and continued with the other boy taking the win. He was anxious to face him again but he did in ultimate and went on to win. For the third match they were tied throughout with the other boy taking the win at the end. Noah acted with dignity and respect the whole time even when his opponents didn’t always do so and we are so proud of that. Noah showed super skill and respect in all his matches with this super evident against his team mates. So proud of you Noah and also can't wait to see your new form and see you back competing in that next time out!

Logan smashed it and came up against the same boy in light con and martial box. He showed extreme composure and great fight craft to take unaminous wins. We love how Logan picks his shots perfectly and won't be drawn into a slogging match. Superb skills. Beautiful respectful final in light con against his team mate. We still want to see you try points in future. Well done.

Great to see Rojus on the circuit again. Great skills, great composure and great attitude. Managed his emotions really well and displayed lovely fight craft in his light continuous bout. Just need to throw more kicks in future as it was super close and could have gone either way. Martial box was so respectful against his team mate, throwing more and multiple shots may have taken the win but when its against your team mate it's more about looking after each other than who gets the hand raise. Definitely should be coming to more comps going forward.

Aiden had a great day fighting most of his categories back to back late in the afternoon. Fighting up in age and weight in multiple categories and standing in for another Aiden from another MA4U gym when he was unwell in low kick against a taller, older and heavier boy and taking a very well deserved win. Aiden is showing great maturity to his fighting. Adapting well to new opponents and keeping a clear level head showing some great advanced skills with his dad as coach. He’s one of the most experienced competitors from MA4U Doncaster and he’s always so laid back with his achievements and he just handles himself so well. He kept his composure throughout and even managed to land a cartwheel kick! Well deserved top spot on the leaderboard, well done!

Marian's first time competing and he was so excited. He managed his light con matches against his team mates superbly with awesome movement taking the win. His low kick was against a more advanced fighter but Marian landed some clean shots and was really tested. We are looking forward to seeing Marian's journey continue. Well done.

Taylor is a huge part of the coaching team and looks after a lot of the younger forms and fighting competitors. He excels in this and it’s a massive part of his character. Competing himself, he took the gold in creative and silver in both musicial forms and weapons. He tied at the top in musical forms and had to go again. Unfortunately he just didn’t manage to do it as cleanly the second time round and ended up taking the silver. First time doing his nunchucks form and although he dropped them, he did super and one we'd like to see him do again.

First time competing for Ibraheem and he managed it so well. Took it all in his stride and performed his form really well taking the gold against his team mate. We loved how inspired Iby & his sister Eiliyah came away from the comp wanting to try points and more forms in the future. Let’s go guys!

Jax weapons form is great, the music, the routine, all of it brilliant. He works so hard on perfecting it and you can see it in his performance. It was Jax' first time fighting and because he achieved his black belt in July he couldn't go in the novice section so he was really up against it going in for the first time at 15 and against another boy that had competed before. Although he didn't get the win, he held his own and really tried his best and that's all we can ever ask for. Definitely like to see him try again and also give points a try. Really great lad. Well done Jax.

Raf is so so talented. He is often the smallest in his category but he finds some inner strength and goes for it anyway. He had a difficult day but he tried his very best and by the end, his confidence was soaring. Having to watch on the sidelines when his team mate was injured, knowing he had to go up against the same competitor was a little overwhelming but he absolutely threw himself in and fought beautifully. His form was awesome and he had some lovely words of encouragement from one of the judges. We believe in you Raf, every single step of the way! Keep going.

Sergei respectfully stepped in for the mixed match against a girl who's opponent pulled out. Sergei is a respectful and controlled fighter, not a banger and this was a little much for him. He displayed lovely skill and composure against his team mate in the bronze match of the other category and took the win. Sergei needs to see what we see and believe in himself. He had great fun with his team mates throughout the day and we'd love to see him attend more competitions.

Light Continuous 11-12 years M 61.0-66.5kg – SILVER🥈

Wow! First time at a competition for Ivan and he did so well. Displaying real skill and fight craft in his first light con bout to get through to the final match of his category. His opponent in the final was very feisty to say the least and just a bit much. Ivan stayed so calm and collected but took the silver purely from volume of shots from his opponent. We think he has an exciting future ahead of him. Well done.

An all team mate category and superbly handled by them all. Lee has only been training 11 months and he has thrown himself in to it, always attending classes, doing extra training at home, always on the go and doing PTs. It's a whole family deal with the Ingbers and we are so proud of Lee for how far he's come in such little time. Excited for your journey to progress and your development in martial arts.

First time competing for MA4U Doncaster. James came up against a much younger and smaller opponent who came out all guns blazing. James managed to land some lovely shots but the volume of shots from his opponent was a little much. James said he was dissapointed but we think he handled it very well and should be proud of himself. Would love to see you try boxing and light continuous next time too.

When his team mate didn't have a match, Jesse who was attending to support his brother Jax, decided to step in and give it a go. No pressure, no nerves and just going out to have fun. His form was awesome with a cheeky little moonwalk to MJ in the middle! There’s something we never thought we’d say or see! We think you have a very exciting future doing nunchucks Jesse and hope you are inspired to continue developing those skills and to compete again.

Musical Forms 10-12 years Mixed SILVER🥈

Second comp for Clayton and first time doing forms. He has been working really hard with Taylor to perfect his routine and it showed. He has so many self doubts and he really shouldn’t. He nailed those tricks and looked really sharp. Wearing Taylor’s old gi from when he started competing, it totally took us back. We loved how Clay came away bouncing and smiling and wanting to try again. Keep going dude!

First time competing and Alexey did really well landing a lot of shots with an awesome work rate in an all team mate category. He handled the pressure really well. Nice and respectful bout which is all we can ever ask for when it’s team mates. We are looking forward to seeing you compete again.
