THIS WEEKEND'S FIXTURES

An oddly quit weekend here at DTCC as we reach round 20 of the season.

The 1st XI travelt to Appleby Frodingham, while the 2nd XI host Coal Aston at The Spinks Cricket Ground. The 3rd XI are at Hill House as they take on Stocksbridge and the 4th XI make the journey to Rockingham.

The Sunday XI will host The Chronicles at The SCG on Monday from 1pm.

WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Sunday saw the end of the Ladies 1st XI 40 over campaign as they beat Saxton by 92 runs. Batting first, Town made 263/7 as Izzy Fidler made her second century of the season, making 129 alongside Natalie Brown's 33 and Emily Copeman (sponsored by CricStudio Inc UK) made 32. With the ball Copeman stood out again as she picked up 4-25, Hannah Cusack took 2-20 and Anjali Singh took 1-18 on their way to victory and a 3rd place finish in the league.

The W&G Softball team finished their season with their 13th win in a row as they won at home to Brodsworth. Bowling first Town kept Brodsworth to a net score of just 270, wickets from Maia Hopkins, Jodie Gilchrist and Elli Barnes as they each picked up 1 wicket each. In the chase, runs from Hollie Savage, Jodie Gilchrist and Maia Hopkins, as they scored 16, 12 and 10 respectively, saw Town finish their innings with a net score of 303 and finishing their season in third place.

WEEKEND ROUNDUP

The 1st XI travelled to Wickersley on Saturday and were bowling first as the hosts made their way to 264/8 with wickets from Curtis Free (sponsored by The Free Family) as he took 4-46, Harsha Rajapaksha (sponsored by Dirty Digging Landscapes) took 2-66 and Oliver Booth (sponsored by Bubble Design Ltd) took 1-29. In response Town could only make 187 before being dismissed, with Harsha Rajapaksha making 66, James Ward (sponsored by Hanicks Heating & Spares) scored 42 and Oliver Booth added 16 to the total.

The 2nd XI hosted Sheffield Collegiate at The Spinks Cricket Ground and bowled first, the visitors made 195 before being dismissed. Pick of the bowlers was Jak Hotchkiss (sponsored by Wilds About Dogs) as he took 5-44, Joe Woodiwiss took 2-46 and Archie Peirson (sponsored by Delta Plastering) picked up 1-27. With the bat Town could only make 128 securing 2 points with Ewan Whittaker (sponsored by GN Property Plus) making 37, Simon Widdup made 17 and Alex Rudkin scored 16.

The 3rd XI made it 3 on the spin as they travelled to Ackworth, where batting first, they scored 169/7 as Mark Lockwood scored 39 alongside Andy Peirson's 38 and Kripal Singh adding 24 to the total. With the ball, Town dismissed the hosts for 145 as Michael Linney picked up another 5 wicket haul this year as he took 5-44, Alfie Gudgin picked up 3-39 along with Kripal Singh as he took 2-31 securing the 12 points.

WEEKEND FIXTURES

We reach round 19 of the season this week as the 1st XI make the short journey to Wickersley, the 2nd XI host Sheffield Collegiate at The Spinks Cricket Ground. The 3rd XI travel to Ackworth and the 4th XI host Adwick-Le-Street at Hill House.

Sunday sees the end of our Ladies 1st XI regular season as they travel to Saxton, we also see the end of the W&G Softball season as they look to go unbeaten since May! And the Sunday XI travel to Wombwell to face The Chronicles.

WEEKEND ROUNDUP

Sunday saw our Ladies 1st XI in T20 action as they travelled to Wrenthorpe and then East Ardsley to face Sessay. At Wrenthorpe, Town batted first and scored a strong 148/6 thanks to Elinor Wood (sponsored by Ray 'Dixie' Deans) scoring 41, Ali March (sponsored by The Milnes Family) made 18 and Aura Kent added 17 to the score. With the Ball, Casey Cutler picked up 2-20, Hannah Cusack took 1-23 and Aura Kent took 1-26 as the hosts completed the chase losing 5 wickets in the process.

At East Ardsley, Town bowled first and Cutler again shone as she took 4-23 and Kizzy Spence-Hill took 2-19 as the hosts made 147/6. In the chase Ali March (sponsored by The Milnes Family) made her way to 38, Aura Kent and Hannah Cusack added 21 and 11 respectively as Town came up short scoring just 101/5.

Our Women & Girls Softball team made it 12 in a row as they overcame Upper Haugh; Arfa Umair scoring a fantastic 33 along with Jodie Gilchrist making 23 and Alison Price scored 12. With the Ball Jodie Gilchrist was pick of the bunch as she took 2-13 as they go up to 3rd in the league with 1 game to go.
