ππ₯ BACK TO SCHOOL β BACK TO LEARNING
Today our students returned following the half-term break and got straight back into a structured day of education, personal development and boxing.
Our Alternative Provision programme is designed to give young people a positive, supportive environment where they can develop the skills, confidence and mindset they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Hereβs how we spent our first day back:
β° 09:00 β Arrival
Students arrived and prepared for the day ahead.
π 09:15 β Registration
A structured start to the day, setting expectations and establishing a positive learning environment.
π¬ 09:30β10:30 β Reflection & Personal Development
We discussed the weekend, identifying what went well, what could have been better and, most importantly, what lessons could be taken from our experiences.
This is an important part of our programme β encouraging students to take responsibility for their actions, understand consequences and make better decisions moving forward.
β 10:30β11:00 β Break
π₯ 11:00β12:15 β Boxing & Physical Education
A structured boxing session focusing on combinations, discipline, concentration, listening skills, coordination and following instruction.
π½οΈ 12:15β12:45 β Lunch
π 13:00β14:30 β Reading & Listening
Students worked on their literacy, comprehension, concentration and ability to listen and engage effectively.
βοΈ 14:30β15:00 β English Assessment
The day finished with an English test, allowing us to assess progress and identify areas for further development.
This is what Alternative Provision should be about.
Itβs not simply about keeping young people busy. Itβs about providing structure, consistency, boundaries, education and opportunity while helping students develop the confidence and life skills needed to move forward.
π₯ Boxing is the vehicle.
π Education is the foundation.
π§ Personal development is the goal.
Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, overcome a challenge and take another step in the right direction.
Proud of the effort from our students today. π
