Desborough Town FC U18s 5๏ธโƒฃโ€“0๏ธโƒฃ Stamford AFC U18s

A frantic first half saw us struggle to find that final ball and breakthrough, with the sides going in 0โ€“0 at the break.

The second half was a completely different story! ๐Ÿ”ฅ We shifted through the gears, got the ball down, played to our strengths and dominated, finding the back of the net five times ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

Three brilliantly worked goals from Louie, who was excellent from start to finish. His link-up play was outstanding and he got the goals his performance deserved!

A fantastic second-half performance from the boys! ๐Ÿ’™

A share of the points for the Reserves as we draw 3-3 away at Godmanchester Rovers Reserves.

An even first half with chances at both ends saw us go into the break 2-1 ahead.

The opening 20 minutes of the second half was fantastic football from the lads. We created chances, played some great stuff and extended our lead to 3-1. Unfortunately, complacency crept in and we allowed Godmanchester back into the game, with the hosts eventually bringing it back to 3-3.

We pushed hard for a winner in the final 10 minutes and had opportunities to take all three points, but unfortunately couldnโ€™t find the finish.

Overall, a frustrating one given the position we put ourselves in, but plenty of positives to take from the performance. ๐Ÿ‘Š

๐Ÿ’™ A HUGE WELL DONE, JACK! ๐Ÿ‘โšฝ๏ธ

Todayโ€™s game took an unexpected turn when our referee unfortunately picked up an injury, bringing play to a temporary stop. With the game needing to continue, our First Team Manager Neil searched the crowd for a qualified referee or linesman who could step inโ€ฆ and thatโ€™s when we found Jack! ๐Ÿ‘

At just 15 years old, and having only started refereeing youth football in February, Jack showed fantastic confidence and maturity by volunteering to step up and take on the challenge. And Jack isnโ€™t just any supporterโ€ฆ heโ€™s a long-standing Desborough Town youth supporter, regularly attending all of our home games and most of our away fixtures.

So when the opportunity came to help his club, Jack didnโ€™t hesitate. He grabbed the flag and got on with it! ๐Ÿ™Œ Itโ€™s not every day you find yourself being asked to officiate a senior menโ€™s game at just 15, but Jack stepped up and did a fantastic job.

Everyone at Desborough Town FC would like to say a massive thank you and well done to Jack for stepping up when his club needed him ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™

Itโ€™s exactly this kind of commitment, passion and willingness to help that makes grassroots football and our club so special โšฝ๏ธ Well done, Jack - you did yourself proud! ๐Ÿ‘
