And we would like to encourage other local clubs and parents to follow suit, helping create a safer environment for all players following a serious tibia break to our U13 Player on Sunday afternoon due to wrong shinpads worn.

Club statement:

Following a recent injury to one of our players, the club has reviewed the type of shin pads being worn at training and matches. After careful consideration, we are banning the use of Joga “small” shin pads and Joga sleeve-style shin pads with immediate effect. Players will not be able to participate in playing activities if they arrive with these shin pads.

The injury involved a stud mark in an area that proper, full‑coverage shin pads would have protected. While we can’t change what happened, we can take steps to prevent it happening again.

Shin pads are a safety requirement, not a fashion accessory.
They must provide adequate coverage, proper protection, and meet football safety standards.

From now on, all MCS players must wear:

Full‑size, hard-shell shin pads

Pads that cover the full length of the shin

Pads that are secured properly (straps or inside socks)

We appreciate your support in keeping every child safe on the pitch.
