New equipment. One inspection cycle. ⚙️

Tired of purchasing lifting equipment outside of your usual inspection cycle, only to end up with different pieces of equipment due for inspection at different times throughout the year?

With AMG Plant Testing, we keep things simple.

Our straightforward pricing structure means that if you purchase new lifting equipment from us and we’re back on site carrying out your scheduled inspections shortly afterwards, we can recertify those new items and bring them in line with the rest of your equipment.

So you’re not faced with additional call-outs and multiple inspection dates further down the line.

That means:
◾️One inspection cycle
◾️Fewer separate call-outs
◾️Less admin to keep track of
◾️ A simple, transparent pricing structure
◾️A more straightforward approach to keeping your equipment compliant

Because adding new equipment shouldn’t mean adding another inspection date or unnecessary extra cost to your calendar!

Have you machinery or lifting equipment operating across both Northern Ireland and England?

You might assume LOLER and PUWER work exactly the same way across both jurisdictions.

The requirements are very similar, but the legislation itself is different.

In England:
LOLER 1998
PUWER 1998

In Northern Ireland:
LOLER (NI) 1999
PUWER (NI) 1999

That distinction is important when your equipment is being inspected and your documentation is being produced.

For businesses with sites, machinery or lifting equipment operating across different jurisdictions, it’s another reason to work with an inspection provider that understands where your equipment is being used, not simply what is being inspected.

These photos were taken during our recent visit to the FP McCann Macrete depot, just one of the six sites covered by the AMG Plant Testing team.

A huge thank you to FP McCann for continuing to trust our team with their inspections! 🤝

⚠️ Safety Tip: Never lift with a twisted or knotted web sling.

Twisting or knotting a sling can prevent the load from being distributed evenly, reduce its strength and increase the risk of sudden failure under load.

Before every lift, operators should check that the sling is:

âś… Flat and free from twists
âś… Correctly positioned
âś… Free from knots, cuts and visible damage
âś… Suitable for the load being lifted

A simple pre-use check could prevent a serious incident.

👉 Would your operators spot the issue before the lift begins?

This harness passed the buckle test… but it still failed inspection. ⚠️

A small tear might not look serious, but when equipment is protecting someone working at height, it’s simply not worth the risk.

This was spotted by our engineers who were recently on Site with GTS Powerlines.

Using our CheckedOK software, our engineer photographed and logged the failure, giving the customer a clear digital record. We were then able to supply a new certified harness and provide the customer with its new certification, keeping them safe, compliant and back up and running with zero downtime.

Passing one check doesn’t mean an item is safe.
That’s why inspecting every component and every detail matters. ✅

It might look like “just a couple of cracks" but when you’re working at height, there’s no room for risk! ⚠️

During a recent examination, our engineer identified two cracks in this MEWP bucket, resulting in an immediate fail ❌

Thorough inspections don’t just keep equipment compliant they help keep people safe on site.

This is why every inspection matters. âś…
