SouthEast Fest 2026! 🌊🎉📸

Last weekend some of our club members headed down to Suir Island in Clonmel, Co Tipperary for

On the Saturday our members attended a development day where they got to try out different types of boats, SUP’s, canoes, pilates, receive tailored coaching/training and try new water play features.

The Sunday some of them competed in the Intermediate Freestyle and Intermediate BoaterX with Daniel making the podium placing in 3rd in the Men’s freestyle and Cara 2nd in the Women’s freestyle! 🏅🤙

Thanks to all the organisers, coaches, volunteers who made this event so fantastic. Can’t wait for 2027 with more Foyle Paddlers attending!

Surfing at Culdaff pt2 🌊🏄

Our Sunday Culdaff surf session! Today some of our newer members got to try their hand at surfing for the first time and did excellent.

The conditions were perfect for progressing our paddlers who are used to calmer waters.

They focused on getting used to paddling across waves, bracing techniques and steering. Well done to all!

On Sunday our very own Michael McAllister ran a skills session on Enagh Lough. We practiced some edging skills to help build the confidence of our newer paddlers. Then we had a short game of canoe football (like polo but you can't hold the ball and there's no tackling👎) With some wetwork practice at the end.

It was a lovely day on the water with ideal conditions. Thanks Michael ❤️

Foyle Paddlers: “For Fun, For Family and For Everyone”

FPCC is a long-standing, community-focused paddling club based at Prehen Boathouse in Derry/Londonderry established in 1981, it offers year-round activities for all ages and skill levels, ranging from river running and sea kayaking to competitive racing and family sessions.

Key Activities & Facilities:

Beginner Taster Sessions: Regularly hosted introductory sessions allowing beginners to try kayaks, canoes, and sit-on-tops in a safe, guided environment. 

Recreational Paddles: Weekly club paddles (often on Wednesdays) exploring the River Foyle, coastal areas, and local lakelands.

Weekend Paddling: from white water adrenaline trips to sea kayaking adventures 

Safety & Training: Members have access to certified Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Courses (PSRC).

Events & Racing: The club regularly hosts exciting community events, such as the Annual Foyle Race with distances ranging from the Peace Bridge to the Foyle Bridge; River Mourne 7 mile winter whitewater race (up to Grade 3).

Winter pool sessions: every Thursday and Friday

Fundamentals Courses- suitable for Beginners and Improvers, with the emphasis on ”Fun!”
