🥋🏉 Preseason, but make it unpredictable…

Our youth girls are absolutely loving this side of preseason, getting out of their comfort zones, trying new sports and picking up skills that will hopefully give them an edge when the rugby season kicks off! 👀

This week, it was JUDO 🥋 and safe to say, the girls had an absolute blast! Plenty of throws, rolls, laughs and maybe a few moments of “wait… am I supposed to be on the floor?” 😂

Building strength, balance, confidence and teamwork, all while having a bit of craic along the way! 💚🖤🤍

A huge thank you to Paul Green who helped our girls get stuck in! 👏 and Gary for organising !! 🫡

Preseason isn’t just about rugby… it’s about becoming better athletes, trying new things and having fun while doing it! 💪

🏉 The Rosie Stewart Bowl is coming back to Judges Road! 🏉
We are incredibly proud and honoured to be bringing back the Rosie Stewart Bowl to Judges Road. ❤️

This year, two AIL teams will go head-to-head for the bowl in what promises to be a fantastic occasion.

The match will also mark the kick-start to our celebrations of 20 years of women’s teams at City of Derry RFC, a huge milestone and one we are incredibly proud to celebrate 💚

Preseason apparently wasn’t painful enough, so we added boxing to the mix. Some found their inner Katie Taylor. Others found out very quickly that they should probably stick to rugby. 😂

We’re not saying we’ve found the next Irish boxing superstar… but we’re also not ruling it out. 👀🇮🇪

Katie, if you’re looking for a few more sparring partners, we know a squad.💚🥊

Ulster Rugby have created this new post through partnership with City of Derry RFC and Derry and Strabane district council

If you want to play a vital part in improving the quality of coaching, boosting participation in local schools and City of Derry RFC, and helping players reach their full potential, this is the role for you!
