PHOENIX 2016s DEVELOPMENT TOURNAMENT ⚽⚽

🏆 Final Placings
🥇 1st – Carndonagh
🥈 2nd – Cockhill
🥉 3rd – Phoenix
🏅 4th – TriStar
🏅 5th – Artigarvan
👏 Congratulations to Carndonagh, our tournament winners, after a fantastic day of football!
❤️🖤 A special mention for our Phoenix 2016 team. The boys were absolutely brilliant all day, conceding just ONE goal throughout the entire tournament! Even better than that was the way they played with smiles on their faces from start to finish.
There were great performances right across the team, plenty of teamwork and, most importantly, they enjoyed every minute of the day. The coaches couldn't have been prouder of them. 👏⚽
A massive THANK YOU to every player, coach, parent and supporter who helped make the tournament such an enjoyable day.
Football, fun, friendships and plenty of smiles — exactly what a development tournament should be about! ❤️🖤⚽
Well done everyone and congratulations to all our teams! 🏆👏

D&D Men's SMARTPAY Jimbo Crossan Cup 🏆
Phoenix Athletic 5 Tristar 3
Congratulations to our men's team who rounded off a great summer of Cup competitions with a very good win over Tristar at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium yesterday. It was a very entertaining game played in front of a good crowd with some great goals. Tristar went ahead on 3 occasions however Phoenix kept playing their game and created plenty of chances and finished the game very strongly. Goals from Oran Deeney (2) Mark Healey, Oran Sweeney and Kealan Kelly sealed the win for Chris McGarrigle's men and it was a fitting reward for the team's efforts over the past number of seasons.
Jimbo Crossan was a giant figure in football here for decades and it was great to have Jimbo's family in attendance with his brother the legendary Jobby presenting the cup to captain Declan Harley after the final whistle.
Huge congratulations to a young Tristar side on a great performance and a special thank you to D&D men's committee Darren Smyth and Liam Smyth for keeping the summer cups going, it's greatly appreciated.

It's with a heavy heart that we post this asking all our members to keep the family of Yasmin Khera in our thoughts and prayers. We were all heartbroken and in shock when we heard the tragic news yesterday. Yasmin was such a beautiful young lady who attended many of our games to cheer on her younger brothers, always so friendly to everyone and so supportive of her brothers, Cruz who plays for our 2009s and Zayn who plays for our 2012s. Both lads are so talented and very popular amongst their team mates and we want to let you know that we are all here to support you through this most difficult of times.
Our sincere condolences to Yasmin's parents Marty and Lisa, we can not imagine the pain yous must be feeling now, sister Layla, brother's Cruz and Zayn and to Yasmin's wider family circle and many friends.
Yasmin's funeral will be at 12pm on Monday at Steelstown Chapel, may Yasmin rest in peace ❤️🙏
As a mark of respect a minutes silence will be observed in our men's final today

SMARTPAY D&D MEN'S TERRY KELLY CUP FINAL
TONIGHT 7.45PM KO Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium
PHOENIX ATHLETIC v DON BOSCOS
It has been a brilliant summer of football for our men's team and tonight the boys have a chance to claim a major trophy when they compete in the Terry Kelly Cup final and it's a fitting venue as the game will be played on the fantastic new pitch at the brandywell. A real fitting venue as Terry was Derry City's first captain when the club returned to senior football in 1985. To add to the story Terry was also a founding figure of our opponents Don Boscos and is much loved by his club. No doubt it will be a cracking game and we will have members of our 2016 group walking out with our players. We encourage as many people to come along and support our boys. Good luck lads 🔴🟤🔴⚫

A day to remember at the Brandywell! ❤️⚽
Our Phoenix 2017 girls had the honour of walking out as mascots with the Derry City Women’s team before taking on ball-girl duties during the match.
The girls loved every minute of this amazing experience. A massive thank you to Derry City Women for the warm welcome and for inspiring the next generation! 🔥👏
