Group Personal Training & Fitness Facility

23/08/2026

You know those worries before joining a Group? 💛🖤

“I’m really unfit.”
Doesn’t matter.

“I haven’t exercised in years.”
Doesn’t matter.

“Everyone will be stronger than me.”
Doesn’t matter.

“I won’t know what I’m doing.”
We’ll show you.

“What if I don’t fit in?”
You will.

“What if everyone already knows each other?”
They didn’t once.

“What if I’m the odd one out?”
You won’t be.

“What if I’m too slow?”
We work with you, not against you.

“What if I can’t keep up?”
You don’t have to.

“What if everyone judges me?”
They won’t.

“What if I feel awkward walking in on my own?”
We’ll make sure you’re welcomed.

“What if I’ve tried before and given up?”
That doesn’t mean you can’t do it this time.

And maybe the biggest one…

“What if I just don’t belong there?”

You do.

You don’t need to arrive to us fit, strong, confident or experienced.

You just need to arrive as you.

We’ll meet you where you’re at,
help you learn
build your confidence
….and get you moving alongside a group of people who are all just trying to look after themselves too.

No judgement. No ego. No cliques.

Just coaching, encouragement, few laughs, and people who want to see you do well.

Because sometimes the hardest part isn’t the workout…

It’s walking through the door for the first time.

We really try to make that bit easy 💛🖤

Group PT: We Know Our People 🤗

And that’s actually one of the best things about Group PT.

We know your habits ✅
We know your excuses✅
We know the exercises you secretly love and the ones you’d happily see removed from the programme forever✅

But here’s the thing…

We’re not here to force everyone into the same box.

If something doesn’t work for you, we’ll adapt it.

If you’re having a bad day, we’ll work around it.

If you genuinely hate an exercise, we’ll find a way to get the same outcome without making you miserable. 😂

We’ll push you when you need pushing, back off when you need backing off, and give you a bit of banter along the way.

Because Group PT isn’t about making every client do exactly the same thing.

It’s about knowing the person in front of us and getting the best out of them.

So yes, we’ll take the hand 🤗

Yes, we’ll call you out when you’re chatting sh@t😂

But we’ll also listen, adapt and work with you — because ultimately, we want you to enjoy training, keep showing up and get results.

We know our people.
We know what makes them tick.
And we’ll always work with you to make it work. 💛🖤

1️⃣4️⃣ years coaching in some form now — and everything in life moves in phases.

1️⃣ From setting up and leading a running club that’s still going to this day 😍

I can remember stapling posters like a buck eejit to lamp posts in the rain just to get it off the ground 😂 — Facebook / Instagram wasn’t really a thing back then 👀

2️⃣ To becoming a fitness instructor and starting a one-man-band spin club — £5,000 loan and a load of rickety second-hand bikes bought off Del Boy Trotter 😵‍💫

3️⃣ To becoming a Personal Trainer, buying far too much equipment, the birth of The Unit and managing a small business 📊

All of it started as a part-time thing, and it continues to be so.

Main business lessons ⬇️

🔹 I certainly don’t know it all — learn from others.
🔹 There have been plenty of mistakes.
🔹 You need help. I’ve been supported, and continue to be, by some great people.
🔹 Ups and downs are normal. They’re part of it.

What I do know after 14 years ⬇️

💡 People buy people. They buy energy — not a facility or the best equipment.

💡 Clients pay for a positive experience. End of.

💡 Put total strangers in a room together and, over time, friendships develop. One of the best parts of it.

💡 You won’t be for everyone. That’s life. Don’t be one bit offended by it.

And when it comes to our client profile at The Unit, we attract who we are.

We don’t oversell.
We don’t make promises.
You won’t hear us talking about any magic “fat-burning workouts” 🤥

We’re just trying to create a place where people enjoy training, feel welcome, work hard, have a bit of craic and hopefully make some good friends along the way.

So, if you like our vibe, coming from a beginner or regular training standpoint, are ½ normal, ½ decent craic and fairly dead-on most of the time, then we’d love to hear from you as we head into September 📞📲

It’s not really a high bar of entry 🫡

💛🖤

What 8 Years with The Unit has Taught Us About Coaching.

We’re not just in the fitness industry.

We’re in the people business.

The exercises, sets, and reps matter—but they’re rarely the reason people keep coming back.

1️⃣Most people aren’t training to look better—they’re training to feel better 💛

For many clients, the gym is their escape from the pressures of everyday life. It’s the one time in their day where they can switch off from work, family responsibilities, stress, and everything else that’s waiting outside the door.

Never underestimate the impact you can have on someone’s mental health just by creating a positive environment.

2️⃣People want to enjoy their session🖤

Clients already have enough stress in their lives. Their session shouldn’t add to it.

Keep things simple. Keep things positive. Remove the hassle. Make their training something they genuinely look forward to each week.

If they leave feeling better than when they arrived, you’ve done your job.

3️⃣Make every client feel welcome💛

People want to feel seen.

Learn their names. Greet them when they walk in. Notice when they’ve had a good week—or when they haven’t. Celebrate their progress, see their journey.

The little things are often the big things.

4️⃣Know when to engage—and when to give space🖤

Not every client walks through the door wanting conversation.

Some days they’ll want to chat for the whole session. Other days they’ll need quiet, routine, and a chance to clear their head.

Good coaches read the room. They know when to lift the energy and when to simply be present.

Be fun but be professional.

Turn up early. Be prepared. Have a structured plan.

This is a service industry, so we make an effort.

People notice when a coach is prepared, engaged, and genuinely cares. They also notice when they’re not.

The best facilities are the ones who make clients feel comfortable, they want to come back because it gives them something positive in their lives.

It’s as good a standard to strive for as any 💛🖤

Is Group PT expensive? 🤔

Yes! - but like any service, only if you don’t use it.

It’s a service—you pay to get the full value from it.

Use it as intended, 3 sessions a week, and it works out at about the price of a fancy tea and bun each session. ☕🥯

In return you get:
✔️ Healthier
✔️ Fitter
✔️ Stronger
✔️ More confident
✔️ More capable

Plus structure, coaching, accountability and a private facility to train in.

So… what’s actually more expensive?

Investing in yourself?
Or spending the same on tea & buns? 💁🏼

Disclaimer: I love a good bun too. It’s just nicer when it’s a choice, not an excuse. 😅

Health & Fitness over all - the important adult priority 💛🖤

Bang average fitness.

Bang average strength.

Bang average ability.

Above average enjoyment of exercise.

It’s always been that way for me.

That’s all it is.

As a small business owner, you can’t expect to sell a product to anyone that you don’t truly believe in yourself.

Like a ‘John the Baptist’ to the value of this game, and whilst it might not be for everyone and you’ll always have your critics…..

keep preaching what you truly believe….📣

Your tribe will always find you💛🖤

27/07/2026

Social media can be very intimidating when you’re thinking about starting your fitness journey.

Everywhere you look, it’s people smashing personal bests, running ultra marathons, lifting ridiculous weights, or looking like they’ve been training their whole lives.

It’s easy to compare yourself and think, “I’ll never get there.”

But never let that stop you.

It’s your story and your journey.

If you’re unhappy with where you are, have the confidence to make a start, it’s the best tool you can have.

You don’t need to be perfect, far from it. You don’t need the latest gear or an ideal plan. You just need to begin.

Let the ego go - it holds so many back.

But when you do start, when you keep showing up, keep working hard, and stay true to yourself, you will get there, you will improve on yourself. Before you know it, someone will be looking at your journey for inspiration, just like you’ve looked at someone else’s.

So please don’t let social media stop you from taking that first step. See past all that.

Your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s—but it has to be yours, you own it and you control it.

Never settle with being really unhappy with your health and within your body. It’s not a good place.

And more importantly never lose sight you are always doing it for you 💛🖤

Most people know exactly what to do to become fitter, stronger and healthier, we’ve never been bombarded by so much information.

However the basics remain the same.

A committed 3 hours per week for 6-12 months you could be leaner, fitter, stronger, healthier.

On the other hand you’ll always regret wasting 6-12 months, remaining unhappy and frustrated, doing nothing and being in the same place or worse.

You have got to want the routine.

You have got to want the change.

Nobody can ever give those desires to you.

Leading a life of unhappiness through poor health and fitness does not have to be permanent.

Build a better balance for a better life - 📲 💛🖤🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

The summer always sees a huge drop off ☀️

Things get much quieter.

This is life.

We do get it though, holidays, kids off school and busy weekends make life hectic, especially for parents. But you don’t need to be perfect, you just need to keep showing up.

If you want to find 1 hour, 2-3 times a week you always can, where the desire remains.

Never stop, just adapt.

In the meantime, as we navigate through July and August, our doors remain open when routines usually start to slip 💛🖤
