We’re back on court tonight! 🙌

We hope all of our juniors have had a lovely summer and are feeling ready to get back on court, see their friends and get stuck back into their tennis! 🎾😊

We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone and getting the new coaching term underway.

A little reminder: please make sure you book your junior onto their session using the booking links sent out in the relevant WhatsApp groups.

Padel, Pickleball & Pizza Night! 🍕🎾

Our first Padel, Pickleball & Pizza Night was a huge success, with 16 teenagers, plenty of sunshine, LOTS of pizza and some brilliant padel and pickleball!

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, trying both sports, having a laugh and enjoying a really relaxed and social evening together. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make our first one such a success — we’re already looking forward to the next one!

👀 And after the success of this one, Ellen is already planning the next Padel, Pickleball & Pizza Night… with EVEN MORE pizza! 🍕🍕🍕

👯 BRING A FRIEND – WEEK 2!
We know it can be tricky to organise friends coming along during the first week back, so we’re running our Bring a Friend offer in Week 2 of the first half term!

Current junior players can bring a friend along to their coaching session for a FREE trial, and the current player gets their session FREE too! 🎉

It’s a great chance to get back into coaching, then invite a friend along to join you! 💚

🏃‍♀️🎾 DERBYSHIRE RACKETS MARATHON — WE’RE TAKING PART! 🎾🏃‍♂️

You may have seen us mention the Derbyshire Rackets Marathon alongside our Club Champs, so we wanted to explain a little more about this fantastic event! 💙

The Derbyshire Rackets Marathon is bringing together 25+ clubs across Derbyshire for 18 hours of non-stop racket sport, all in aid of Cancer Research UK. Clubs across the county will be taking part throughout the day, helping to raise money while getting people together to play, support and celebrate racket sports. 🎾

And Church Broughton Tennis Club is proud to be one of them! ❤️

Our contribution will take place on Saturday 12th September from 7–9pm, when we’ll be hosting our Mixed Tennis Doubles and Mixed Padel Doubles Club Champs.

💙 Every entry fee from BOTH mixed events will be donated to the Derbyshire Rackets Marathon, as part of our club’s fundraising contribution.

So if you’re thinking about entering the Mixed Tennis or Mixed Padel Club Champs, this is a particularly good one to get involved in! You’ll get to play, enjoy the Club Champs, support the club AND help raise money for an amazing cause.

And you don’t have to be playing to be part of it! Come along, watch the matches, support the players and make a donation on the night. We’d love to have a great atmosphere around the courts and make our two hours a really special part of the marathon. 💙🎾

🍕🎾 PADEL, PICKLEBALL & PIZZA NIGHT! 🎾🍕

Looking for something fun to finish off the summer holidays? We’ve got you covered! 🙌

On Friday 4th September, we’re bringing together padel, pickleball and pizza for a fun-filled evening at Church Broughton Tennis Club! 🎾🍕

It’s the last Friday before the kids head back to school AND before our coaching programme starts back, so what better way to finish the summer than with an evening of games, friends and pizza? 💚

No need to choose between sports — we’ll be getting stuck into both padel and pickleball, followed by some well-deserved pizza! 🍕

🎾 A Mixed Tennis Week at CB! 🎾

It’s been all about our Mixed teams in the Derbyshire League this week!

☀️ Mixed 3rd Team
A great win against Belper 3 on a beautiful sunny day! 🎾👏 Well done to everyone who represented the team!

💪 Mixed 2nd Team
The team were involved in a closely fought match against Littleover Valley, narrowly missing out 5-4.

A special mention to Roger and Beth, who had a fantastic day, winning all 3 of their matches! 👏

Well done to both our Mixed teams this week — great to see plenty of CB tennis out on court! 💙🎾

🎾 2026 CLUB CHAMPS! 🎾

Our 2026 Club Championships are coming up, and this year we’re making them more fun, social and inclusive than ever! 💚

Whether you’re a regular competitor, haven’t played competitively before, or just fancy giving something new a go, there’s an event for everyone! We’d love to see as many of our members and non-member pay-as-you-go players getting involved as possible — and spectators are more than welcome too! Come along, support your fellow club members and enjoy some great tennis and padel. 👏🎾

You may have noticed the Derbyshire Rackets Marathon logo on the poster! We’re really pleased to announce that CB Tennis Club will be taking part in this fantastic charity event this year. 💙

Our contribution will be the 7–9pm Saturday slot, where we’ll be hosting the Mixed Tennis Doubles and Mixed Padel Doubles.

All entry fees from the mixed events will be donated to the Derbyshire Rackets Marathon as part of our club’s contribution, with further opportunities to donate during the event too. 💙

We’d love to see as many people as possible getting involved across the Club Champs, whether you’re competing, supporting from the sidelines or simply coming along to enjoy the atmosphere.

Our Ladies’ 1st Team were in action away at Melbourne on Tuesday evening — and they came away with a fantastic 7-2 victory! 🔥👏

A big thank you to Becky for stepping up to captain the team on the night! 😊

With just one match left this season, the team will be looking to finish the league campaign on a high! 💪🎾

Derbyshire League Action

Our Ladies’ 1st Team welcomed Woodlands to CB for a closely fought match. The team put up a great fight but narrowly missed out, with Woodlands taking the win 5-4.

A special mention to Georgia and Becky, who won all 3 of their matches! 👏💪

And of course, a big thank you to our honorary club mascot Winston 🐶, who was there to cheer the team on! 🎾

Our Men’s 2nd Team also faced Littleover, with Littleover taking the win 6-3. Well played to everyone involved! 👏

Burton League Action

Our Burton A Team put on a fantastic performance, taking a convincing 4-0 win against Burton! 🔥🎾

Well done to father-and-son pairing Ben and Jez, alongside dynamic duo Chris and Roger, who all won every match they played! 👏
