✨September, we’re ready for you✨
As summer begins to soften and the days slowly draw in, September invites us to slow our pace. To feel our feet on the ground.
After the outward energy of summer, this can be a beautiful time to begin turning inward — creating space to reflect, reconnect and listen to what we need.
This month at The Breathing Space, we’re exploring grounding & reflection.
And there’s lots happening in the studio…
🌀 New class - Mandala Flow - Wednesdays • 8pm
Step into a moving meditation where breath, movement and mindfulness come together in a creative, circular flow.
🔥 New class - Power Yoga - Tuesdays • 5.50pm
Sweat, stretch & soar with high-energy blend of Vinyasa, Rocket and Ashtanga-inspired sequences, with smart flexibility work to build strength, boost mobility and leave you feeling strong, energised and empowered.
🌿 Workshop - An Introduction to Self-Awareness
Saturday 26th September
Curious about self-awareness but unsure where to begin?
Explore your thoughts, beliefs and inner patterns with curiosity rather than judgement, experience simple grounding and self-enquiry practices, and begin to discover what might be keeping you feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected.
A nurturing space for reflection, curiosity and self-discovery — with no pressure to share and no expectation to have it all figured out.
🌙 Workshop - Floating Aerial Cocoon Sound Bath Journey
Sunday 27th September
Step into stillness. Soften into suspension. Let yourself be held.
Cradled in soft aerial silks, you’ll be guided into deep rest as crystal singing bowls, chimes and grounding tones wash over you.
And alongside our new classes and September workshops, our regular schedule continues — offering plenty of opportunities to move, breathe, rest, reflect and reconnect.
September is your invitation to come back to yourself.
Root down.
Reflect.
Listen.
Rest.
And make space for whatever comes next. 🌿

✨ Ever wondered what Mantra is? ✨
A mantra is a sacred sound, syllable, word or phrase used in yoga and meditation traditions to focus and steady the mind.
The word mantra comes from the Sanskrit “manas” = mind, and “tra” = liberation or crossing beyond.
In this sense, mantra can be understood as a way of crossing beyond the busy mind through sound.
And sound can be beautifully powerful.
When we repeat a mantra, allowing its rhythm and vibration to become our focus, we create something for the mind to return to. The repetition can steady the heart, quiet distraction and bring us into a deeper sense of presence.
Let the sacred sounds of mantra move beyond the words.
✨Let them ripple through your breath.
✨Let them settle into your body.
✨Let them soften the edges of a busy mind.
You don’t have to understand every word. Simply listen. Repeat. Observe.
Allow the sound to become a vibration, a rhythm, an intention.
And then, perhaps, notice what begins to shift.
What possibilities begin to take root?
🌱 Let the sacred sounds expand into your mind and body, and see what seeds they create.🌱

✨ WHAT IS SAVASANA? ✨
Savasana translates from Sanskrit as “co**se pose”. Sava meaning co**se and asana meaning pose.
It may look like the simplest part of a yoga practice: lying still on your back, allowing the body to soften and the breath to move naturally.
But Savasana is much more than simply having a rest at the end of your practice.
It is an opportunity to pause, integrate and receive. To allow the effects of your practice to settle without needing to do anything else.
In a world that constantly asks us to move, achieve and keep going, Savasana invites us to practice stillness.
No striving.
No performing.
No fixing.
Just being.
Perhaps that is why Savasana can sometimes be the most challenging pose of all.
And perhaps it is also one of the most important 💚

✨ WHAT IS DRISHTI?✨
Drishti is a Sanskrit word meaning “gaze” or “focused vision.”
Drishti is the practice of using a particular point of focus during asana.
Rather than letting the eyes wander, we gently direct our gaze, perhaps towards the tip of the nose, the hands, the horizon, a point on the floor or let your breath be your steady focus.
But Drishti is about so much more.
By giving the eyes or awareness somewhere to rest, we can also give the mind somewhere to settle.
It can help cultivate concentration, steadiness, balance and presence. Bringing our attention away from distraction and back into the practice.
And perhaps there is a beautiful lesson here…..
Where we place our gaze can influence where we place our attention.
So next time you practice, notice your Drishti.
Not just what you are looking at, but where your awareness goes✨

🐍WHAT IS KUNDALINI ENERGY?🐍
In the yogic tradition, Kundalini is described as a dormant spiritual energy held within each of us.
Kundalini is the primal energy of unmanifested potential within us.
It is often symbolised as a coiled serpent resting at the base of the spine, waiting to awaken. 🐍
Through practices such as asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra and mudra, traditional yogic teachings describe Kundalini as awakening and moving through the subtle energetic centres of the body.
And what about Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga brings many of these practices together through dynamic sequences, breathwork, mantra, meditation, mudras and focused awareness. Rather than simply moving through physical postures, the practice invites us to explore the relationship between body, breath, mind and energy.
But perhaps it isn’t about awakening something outside of ourselves.
Perhaps it is an invitation to become more deeply aware of what is already within us.
A journey of awareness, transformation and connection. ✨
Meet Jess and find Kundalini Yoga on our schedule Tuesday’s 7.10pm & Sunday’s 4.45pm ✨

🌿PERMISSION SLIP🌿
Today, you have permission not to have it all together.
You can be uncertain.
You can feel messy.
You can have a difficult day.
You don’t have to know what’s next.
You don’t have to arrive at your yoga mat perfectly calm, perfectly positive or perfectly present.
You can simply arrive as you are.
That’s enough.
Signed:
Your nervous system 🌿

✨ WHAT IS DHYANA?✨
Dhyana is meditation in the yogic tradition, the practice of resting in awareness.
It isn’t about having a perfectly quiet mind or getting rid of your thoughts.
Instead, we soften our need to control, observe what is here and allow ourselves to settle into the present moment.
A practice of stillness, presence and simply being. 🧘♀️
You don’t need to be “good” at meditation.
You simply need to begin. 🤍
