FUND RAISING FOR THE ROYAL DERBY HOSPITAL & BURTON HOSPITAL HOLIDAY CARAVAN
On 11 October, Paul Harris will be shooting a full 75 clays at our shoot, wearing nothing but a mankini. As you’re probably aware, the weather at our ground can get very cold, wet and windy, especially this time of year. Wearing just a mankini is madness, but remember Paul’s doing it to raise much-needed funds for a great cause.

Patients with renal failure often don’t get a holidays. Getting away is almost impossible. A renal caravan gives those who are well enough the chance to have their dialysis sessions away from the hospital and still complete their three sessions. They can also enjoy a break at the coast with familiar staff members at hand to help when having their treatment.

With your generosity, we can help make a difference and raise a little towards the total goal of £75,000 needed to replace an ageing caravan in Wales. Please will you donate as much money as you can , as every little helps towards this great cause. Follow this link to Paul’s Go Fund Me Page.

Clay Shooting Wearing Nothing But a Mankini - 11 October 2026

Where: Darley Dale Clay Pigeon Shooting Club
When: 11 October
Time: His Shoot Starts at 09:20
https://gofund.me/c54625c07

My name is Paul Harris, and I am raising funds for the Royal Derby Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit Holiday Caravan Fund.

As an avid clay pigeon shooter, I regularly visit the Darley Dale Clay Pigeon Shooting Club, which Neil Davison was a core member. Sadly, Neil passed away two years ago from renal failure. During his illness, Neil spent a significant amount of time undergoing dialysis at the Derby Renal Unit in Derby. The only time he was able to get away for a break was to visit the holiday caravan in Wales.

Dialysis patients require treatment three times a week for the rest of their lives, making a holiday extremely difficult—if not nearly impossible to arrange.
The Derby Renal dialysis Unit offers a unique resource: a specialised dialysis caravan located at a coastal park in Caernarfon, Wales. This allows patients and their families to enjoy a much-needed break while receiving care from the staff they know and trust.
However, the existing caravan is aging and urgently needs to be replaced. A new caravan costs approximately £75,000, a cost that the NHS cannot cover. Without this funding, patients risk losing a service that means the world to them. Thanks to generous donors, the total raised so far is just under £59,000, but there is still a way to go.

To support this cause, I am taking on a challenge on 11 October 2026. I will be shooting a full round of 75 clays at the Darley Dale Clay Shooting ground—wearing nothing but a mankini. Given the time of year, weather conditions at the shooting ground this could mean facing rain, snow, or high winds. The round will take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.
My goal is to raise £1,000 through GoFundMe page to help push the fund closer to its £75,000 target. Every donation, no matter how little, will make a meaningful difference for the patients and families who rely on this caravan. Please consider donating and sharing the page to support the Derby Renal Caravan Fund.

Please like & Share this page and spread the word and let's help raise the money needed for this great project.

Thank you

Paul Harris

DARLEY DALE CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING CLUB

Next 75 Bird Clay Shoot - 13 September 2026

BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN

Hello,

Our next 75 bird shoot is scheduled for 13 September 2026. We rarely experience long waits at the stands due to the booking system. Each team of six shooters is allocated a specific time slot and they have 10 minutes to shoot each stand. This is ample time for all shooters to complete each stand. The first shooter to enter the cage is permitted to see the birds, while the others can view those that have been shot before they shoot. Please adhere to this procedure as clays are becoming increasingly expensive, and wasting clays will only mean that the cost of the shoots would have to increase.

Each cage is equipped with a board detailing the clays set up, the number of pairs expected and whether they are singles, pairs or on report. In the event of any issues with your stand, assistance is readily available. Our team will promptly resolve any problems within minutes. You can contact them via the SOS radio attached to each stand or by visiting one of the other local stands that have one. We have nine stands now equipped with radios, so the two local stands near the office are not.

Please arrive at stand 1 in sufficient time. Rushing into stand one will not improve your shooting. If you are unable to make your booking, please contact us before the shoot date so that we can release the space for another shooter and avoid waiting for your arrival.

Shoot Prices:

* Members: £24
* Non-Members: £28
* Juniors under 16 (accompanied by a paying adult): £15
* Membership: £45 per year

Note: Our Sportrap will not be available for this shoot. Pete and Jackie will return on 27 September.

Please will all shooters use only Felt Wad Cartridges, anyone found to be using Plastic wads will be asked to leave the shoot.

If you are interested in knowing each shoot results, we post them on our WhatsApp, Facebook and Website pages.

We still have plenty of spaces after 12:00 if anyone wishing to join us on Sunday.

Don't forget we have our catering van, The Little Food Box offering some great tasty food and a hot drink before you go out on the shooting ground. they are a great favourite with all the shooters. Go and check it out for yourselves.

Anyone wanting to contact us on the day of the shoot, just remember that mobile signal is very poor and difficult to make contact with us. If you would like to shoot and have not booked in online, always come along, we will always try and get you out on the shooting ground, but you may have to wait until a space becomes available.

We have noticed that we are still seeing plastic wads on the shooting ground, we don't allow them any longer due to SSSI restrictions and we don't want to loose the ability to shoot on this site. Im sure you all understand the importance of not leaving plastic on the site. Please use only felt wads at Darley Dale Clay Pigeon Shooting Club.....

Just to let you all know that we wont be having our Sportrap on the 13 September, Pete & Jackie will be back again on the 27 September .

Looking forward to seeing you all at this weekends shoot, see you on stand one.

Cheers for now

Kevin
