Today we’re celebrating an incredible milestone — 100 years of Derby Co-operative Bowls Club! 🥳

1926–2026 | Celebrating 100 Years

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone this afternoon to celebrate a century of bowls, friendship, memories and community. 💙

🕒 Today | 3pm–7pm
🎟️ £5 per person, including a buffet tea
💷 All proceeds donated to Derby Co-operative Bowls Club
👕 Feel free to wear your club shirt — it’s a celebration of the club and its history!

And don’t forget to bring your bowls. It would be great to get a few games going and show our guests what Crown Green Bowls is all about.

🏆 OUR 2026 CLUB CHAMPIONS 🏆

A huge congratulations to Martin Stone-Payne, this year’s Men’s Champion and Overall Club Champion, and to Janet Goody our Ladies’ Champion! 👏

A fantastic achievement for them both, with Martin and Janet each claiming their first Club Championship title. 🏆

A huge WELL DONE to Ami Stone-Payne — today she had the big chop and donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust! 💜👑

We are incredibly proud of her for doing something so special and helping to make a difference to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment and other conditions. 💕

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored Ami, donated and supported her along the way. Your kindness and generosity have meant so much. 🥰

Our defending champions have dominated the Club Championship for the past two years.

👑 Lesley Cook is chasing an incredible third consecutive Ladies' Club Championship.

👑 Mark Redfern is aiming to make it three Men's Club Championship titles in a row.

Will they complete a remarkable hat-trick, or will someone step up to end their reign?

Whatever happens, we're set for a fantastic day of competitive bowls, great sportsmanship and plenty of memorable moments.

On Thursday 13th August, Ami Stone-Payne will be cutting off her long hair to donate it to the Little Princess Trust 💜

Donated hair is transformed into real-hair wigs for children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other medical conditions. While the hair is donated, it still costs around £150 to turn it into just one wig, which is why fundraising is so important.

If you're able to support Ami, no matter how big or small the donation, it would be hugely appreciated and will help make a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who has already donated, shared the fundraiser, or offered words of encouragement – your support means so much. 💜

✂️ Haircut Day: Thursday 13th August

A few team photos from the Fleetwood bowling festival where a few of our bowlers are representing Derby coop/ Horsley. So far we have one qualified for finals day. Well done Danniella Hartshorn for qualifying and we wish you luck in finals days.

Playing doubles today where we hope we get some more of us in the finals day.
