Allestree Bowls Club

Hi Everybody,
I would like to thank the 24 members who participated in the Round Robin competition today.
With 2 pools of 6 pairs the round robin stages were played on both greens, how different they were today compared to a few days ago with lots of green grass on both.

There was some good bowling throughout the day with Janice Mason & Eric Boultbee, the winners of Pool A, defeating Annette Wilton & Jenny Shardlow, winners of Pool B, in the final by 10-8 over 8 ends.

Our latest Round Robin competition was held Sunday on both greens as we had 28 members playing.

Thank you to everybody who supported the event and to Christine & Florence for providing cakes and cookies, much enjoyed and appreciated by all.

I think everybody enjoyed the day, there was some good bowling and in a well bowled final, Martin Lomax & Ian Butler, winners of Group B managed to defeat Helen Coles & Ian Donnelly, winners of Group A by 8pts to 2 pts over 6 ends.

NEW MEMBER SESSIONS CONTINUES

Sessions for new members are on Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to noon on the Old Green. This is aimed to all new members

Members who joined last year can continue with that group if preferred but those who have started to bowl in league matches can have the opportunity to develop further with the advice on match craft on the New Green at the same time.

Both sessions will involve valuable advice/tips for the first half of the session and then some friendly competitive bowling with short games in the second half.
