Allenton 2 - 2 Hemington

Hemington played their second pre-season match against premier side Allenton in tough conditions with the heat and a rock-hard pitch.

The Hammers hit home 18 minutes into the first half with a new signing and a wonder goal from Gareth Worrall. We had our backs to the wall until halftime, but our defense, and keeper kept them at bay.

Hemington started the second half strong, and within 10 minutes, a classy ball again from Gareth put Kirkwood in a one-on-one situation, where Kirkwood blasted home, to put Hemington 2-0 up.

As in the first half, Hemington again had to defend really hard until Allenton broke the deadlock with a goal, and five minutes later, they were awarded a penalty, which they scored to make it a 2-2 final result.

Man of the Match goes to Gareth Worrall for an absolutely classy performance today.

P A N T H E R S

The Panthers made history as they took to the field for the very first time, marking the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey for the team.

There was a real sense of anticipation before kick-off, with the players eager to get out there and show what they could do. Despite this being the Panthers' first ever match, the team showed plenty of enthusiasm, determination and team spirit from the opening whistle.

The match provided the players with their first taste of competitive football, and there were plenty of encouraging moments to build on. The Panthers worked hard for each other, battled for every ball and never gave up, demonstrating the attitude and togetherness that will be so important as the season progresses.

While the result was perhaps not the most important thing on the day, the experience of playing together for the first time was a significant achievement. Every player can be proud of their contribution to a memorable occasion for the team.

With more training, match experience and continued commitment, the team will only get stronger.

One match down, many more to come. The Panthers have officially begun their journey!

First run our for the vets was a success!

A very hot one, but worked hard and got the result 💪

HHFC 7-5 Long Eaton Athletic

1st pre-season friendly for the boys and what a goal fest!
With a few new faces and Summer break rustiness to overcome, this was the perfect test for the boys and they readily stepped up.

After taking an early lead, a strong Long Eaton side would go on to lead the game an incredible 4 times! Resilience is a word that was frequently used to describe Hemington last season and it was on show again here.
Take a bow Liam Statham who delivered an incredible hattrick and would also add 2 assists. A last minute move from the wing into the 10 role, he was instrumental in everything good the lads did going forward and he was also there help break up Long Eaton possession.

He was closely followed with an outstanding performance from Hemington's evergreen Captain, Adam Stallard. He was everywhere, dictating play, organising/motivating his teammates and even fired in a 25 yard screamer!

Whilst conceding 5 goals is never desirable, there were lots of positives to take from this 1st run out. Special mentions for new signing Tom Wilkinson who showed quality footwork and tenacity to win the ball back and Callum Glenny who is looking sharper and scored a cracking penalty.
