A very happy 60th anniversary to our League of the Year winners, Chesterfield & District Sunday Football League! 🎉⚽

Six decades of supporting grassroots football and providing opportunities for players, clubs and volunteers across the area - an incredible milestone.

Congratulations to everyone who has played a part in the league’s journey over the last 60 years! 👏

28th August 1966, 29 days after England football team won the World Cup, the first game in the Chesterfield & District Sunday Football League took place between Kennings Remoulds FC and Bolsover Middleton & Stewart FC, refereed by Peter Cluxton at Apperknowle Recreation Ground.

Today is a proud moment for the League as we celebrate our 60th anniversary.

Thank you to everyone who has been associated to league over the years, without you all this would not have been possible and it’s something we look forward to celebrating over the 2026/27 season
