🏏🔥🏆 Wright Cup Final Summary 🏆🔥🏏

“The first time was so nice, we had to do it twice!” 🏆

Batting first, we posted an impressive 172/9, setting the opposition a challenging target. We knew we had put ourselves in a strong position, especially after a brilliant cameo from Dadurrahman to finish the innings in style.

But it was Man of the Match, Somair Chaudry, who truly showed his class. He led from the front with a fantastic 55 runs at the top of the order before backing it up with the ball, taking 3 crucial wickets in his opening spell and putting Clifton on the back foot from the very start.

The momentum was then carried through by Zeeshan Hamid, who produced a superb spell in the middle overs, claiming 4 wickets and helping bowl Clifton out for just 92.

A fantastic 80-run victory and, once again, the Wright Cup is coming home! 🏆🔥

Congratulations to every single player, coach, volunteer and supporter who played their part. It was a truly special day, made even more memorable by bringing the trophy home once again.

A huge clash with crucial play-off points and rankings at stake. Both sides will be looking to put themselves in the strongest possible position heading into the business end of the competition!

🏏 Kulkeh vs Derby Stars
The league leaders, Kulkeh, take on Derby Stars in our second fixture. Due to the available light and timing, this game will be played over reduced overs, as agreed by both teams.

Unfortunately, the weather was the winner this weekend, with the heavens opening and bringing our fixture to an end 🌧️

🏏 WEEK 19 — MATCH SUMMARY 🏏

Derby City vs Allestree was an absolute thriller from start to finish! 🔥

After losing regular wickets throughout their innings, Derby City found a crucial partnership between Somair & Atiq, helping the home side reach 174 runs — a total that looked slightly below par at the halfway stage.

But if there’s one thing Derby City are known for, it’s never giving up! 💪🏾🔥

The league’s leading wicket-taker, Dadurrahman, once again showed exactly why he is one of the most feared bowlers in the league, tearing through the Allestree batting line-up and claiming his first five-wicket haul for the club! 🎯👏🏾

Then came the heroics of Sachin, making his debut for the club! What a debut it was. 🫡🔥 With just 7 runs to defend from the final over, Sachin held his nerve, picked up two wickets, and helped Derby City secure an incredible 1-run victory and the full points! 🏆

A huge team effort, incredible character and another unforgettable finish! 🙌🏾
